    I tried to hold a newbie FFA. Got random (IC) death threats from Mhaldor for holding it. Only one newbie signed up, so I cancelled it and gave him some prizes (a few credits, herbs, cures). He didn't know what the rift was when I told him to inr them, so I then explained what the rift was. And cities. And houses. Etc. He talked about a monster blocking him from getting home, so we adventured to Mhaldor and slayed a lycopod. I arrived and asked if anyone knew how he could get armor, and then my internet dropped.

    I logged back in to find myself dead.

    Playing Evil is one thing. Being a dick just to be a dick and claiming you are rping evil is something entirely different. 

    Edit: looks like I got enemied. Classy.

    Edit2: And now I'm getting threatened for murder and robbery. Because I was killed. None of this makes sense. I don't understand, and it really sucks.

    To be fair, we didn't know your internet dropped at that exact moment. Or I didn't, at least. You were talking, and at a point we picked up the conversation, you were quiet. Then you disconnected, came back, and then kept talking to the novice. Within a minute of you coming back, you were asked to leave, you didn't move/say anything, so you were enemied (standard Mhaldorian practice). You then prayed (I didn't see you reconnect before praying).

    Walking into Mhaldor without any escort is always a really dangerous idea.

    That's actually not what happened at all.

    You were attempting to convert one of our newbies, and warned to stop doing so and to stop talking to the person. You did not.

    You brought him to Mhaldor, and continued to talk to him in front of a decent group of Mhaldorians.

    You were told (by me) to leave after you reconnected. Instead, you continued talking to him. I warned you if you did not leave the city in 10 seconds, you would be enemied (I gave you 39 seconds after saying that).

    Then I enemied you.

    You prayed immediately, and told me this after you finished praying:

    Qwyn tells you, "Why the fuck did you kill me."

    When I told you that the guards killed you, not me, you didn't respond or attempt to have a further conversation with me.

    tl;dr You were trying to poach a newbie, got called out, didn't heed the warning to stop or leave the city, and got enemied. Deal with it.

    I did not respond before I embraced because I returned and was already embracing. Does the game do that for d/c'd people, because from my side I logged in and was like wtf why can't I talk.

    Also, I have no interest in converting that newbie. He comes across completely new and very confused, and I do not play enough to give him the kind of assistance he requires, and I redirected him to his city several times. I just saw that he was very uncertain on key concepts, so I was trying to help him.

    You guys are mean, malicious, paranoid people.

    The time between me warning you, and my second say, was 35 seconds, and another 4-5 before the city enemying. The time between you dying and you praying was less than 5 seconds.

    @cooper - I didn't fabricate my log. If anything, your log confirms that I was linkdead and you are bloodthirsty.

    I really want to keep liking this game and continue playing, but it's hard. People feel hostile here. I'm not just bitching about a single death; I'm bummed at the overall attitude. People seem more likely to jump to the more hostile, mean conclusion, be that about PK or helping newbs or giving away plants - everything I do apparently upsets someone and it's just not fun.

    57. A noxious, red-hued fog overwhelms the area with a thick, palpable vapour. The afternoon sun shines down, its rays broken only by the occasional wisp of cloud. A rune resembling a horse has been sketched into the ground here. Nearly invisible, a Naga assassin lurks in the shadows here, bow at the ready. There are 4 knights of the Maldaathi here. A runic totem is planted solidly in the ground. An enormous slab of volcanic obsidian towers over this area, the regulations of Mhaldor etched upon its face. An occupied iron gibbet, suspended from a wooden gallows, creaks ominously in the breeze. A sigil in the shape of a small, rectangular monolith is on the ground. A ladder of long, soft leaves comprises a wispy Weaver's Fern along the ground. An enormous slab of volcanic obsidian towers over this area, the laws of Mhaldor etched upon its face. An obsidian eye sigil is here. The broken fragments of a basalt altar litter the ground around the massive form of a bloodsteel stalagmite. A flurry of sea-tinged plumage betrays a formidable albatross perching nearby. A stone gargoyle flies overhead on leathery, grey wings. A Baalzadeen demon towers over you, filling you with dread. The twisted remains of Qwyn lie here. Full of energy, a tubby beaver kit sniffs at and overturns everything he can see. A rheodine woodpecker constantly assesses his surrounds with black eyes and a curious, jerky tilting of his head. Staring eyelessly about himself, a skeleton puppy stands here on ungainly long legs. A tiny heap of bones resembling a kitten rests here. Trembling, a wobbly camel calf treads tentatively here. Lacking its glorious plumage and seeming immensely fragile, a hummingbird's skeleton hovers improbably here. There are 2 corpses of a wild lycopod here. A huge statue of the Scimitar of Yen-Sorte stands here, thrusting skywards. Pure Disciple Nataliia, Acolyte of Cruelty is riding on a stone gargoyle. Her face is partially concealed beneath the raised hood of Anake's Hood. She wields a Dreadblade bastard sword in both hands. Israyhl, Dread Duelist is riding on a formidable sea-spray albatross. His face is partially concealed beneath the raised hood of Anake's Hood. He wields a Soulpiercer in his left hand and a Shield of Absorption in his right. Melodie, Venomous Whisper is here. She wields a bound shield of fanned copper feathers in her right hand. The Black Dragon Cooper's imposing form looms. Kealm is here. He wields a training shortsword in his left hand.

    Apparently both of mhaldor feels the need to push newbies away :expressionless:

    I mean, it's not exactly a secret that Mhaldor doesn't allow anyone but Mhaldorians to be in their city. You could've just taken him to the defendable, and you'd have been 100% fine and likely not enemied. It's not their fault you ripped; you were in the city, and got enemied for an RP reason. I think you're taking this way too personally.

    I did WALK TO MHALDOR. I was told when I arrived there to go no further. I went no further.

    They literally just wanted to kill someone.

    I'm sorry, but I have exactly ZERO sympathy for you.

    You're talking about jumping to conclusions, but just look how you talked to me after you embraced. You were extremely aggressive and toxic, and began heavily swearing immediately and accused me of both killing you and setting Rip to harass you.

    Had you started your conversation with 'Cooper, I believe there has been a misunderstanding. I was only attempting to help your novice.' this whole situation would have gone differently.

    Instead, you said "You tell Cooper, "Why the fuck did you kill me."", followed by accusing me of sending a city enemy who harasses us frequently to harass you.

    You also chose to ignore this tell by Kiet, "Kiet tells you, "You can probably tell him you weren't.""

    Upon reading your log, Rip didn't creepily harass you at all like you accused him of doing to me.

    I highly suggest you take a step back, take a deep breath, and stop trying to be a victim here.

    Oh, I know I'm taking it a bit personally. Thing is, most of my Achaea is bashing alone and exploring - and I do not think I am in a huge minority for new players to this game. When you do not interact with others that much, interactions like these leave a rather big impact.

    How many others are feeling the same way, if this is just "run of the mill, yeah, we know that's how they are" behavior?

    @cooper - The MINUTE I left Rip's location, after telling him not now, he replied threateningly. I am going to guess you aren't a chick, but being a RL chick, that sort of behavior instantly pings creepy for me. I've seen behavior exactly like that from online dating.

    "Don't go any further," does not mean "You're free to stay standing here as long as you like." - Ordinarily, it's more like "You're not welcome here," when it comes to being in a city. You're still taking this way too personally. If they wanted to kill you, they would've done so rather than enemying you so that guards could.

    You were in the city. You were asked to leave the city, after you had brought the novice to safety. You ripping, is not their fault. You have a history of being disrespectful, which also isn't uncommon knowledge. You were completely responsive prior to being asked to leave, you didn't comply, so you died for it.

    The end. Get over it. This is coming from someone who doesn't really like Mhaldor, too.
