Which is perfectly reasonable and I completely agree with. The murky parts and gray areas of this situation are such as which started this discussion in the first place though. Also why is my font crazy!

Regular defenders walking past? If you stand there unresponsive to them being adjacent things could go horribly upside down. It's not as if one could magically know someone was accidentally walking by, or on their phone, or just logged in. You see regular defenders move into your alertness and it has a full appearance of 'I'm here to defend'! One of the big parts of group raiding is being proactive and not standing there waiting to be fish food.
What happened with Mhaldor was not me walking in adjacent, it was me being there for 10-20 mins before hand, or longer, before they showed up, and the first me being aware of it was being yanked -out- of the city, not even inside to attempt sanction.
You literally hit our alertness. That means you moved adjacent to us. Nobody knows what you've been doing for 10 or 20 minutes but you.

I don't recall that, I certainly wasn't aware of the group. It's really hard to say as nexus just closes everything. I don't see how I could have moved adjacent, as I'd been showing a new citizen the oath at Porta Aquila, which is right off defendable, so if I was still in that area I would have still been in that room.

Regardless, it's a bit of a leap to assume anyone who approaches the only entrance/exit to the city is automatically aware of you and there to attack. If you're huddled away in a corner no one uses, that's a huge difference.

  • Yeah no kidding it's hard to know. That's why I called it a gray area.

I think stuff like this definitely crosses the line. Pulling someone out of the city who hasn't attacked you is a gank, plain and simple.

  • You got grabbed as a group when Finkle/Yzarin walked in, so you might've just been grouped in with them. Either way, though, you're a prominent defender, you can empower your totems to know when they're being smudged, and you're Hashan's city leader. Not sure what the big deal is.

Because it's illegal? Which Nicola has clarified with her post.

It'd be a much bigger deal to me if it was a younger/weaker city member. But if you're going to break the rules on one instance, you're going to break them on another, and I've seen more and more of it lately. Hopefully now we've had the admin restate the rules we'll see it die off.

Being a city leader just means I try to be around as much as I can so people can talk about stuff they need. It means sometimes I'll be distracted or on mobile or something, so no I don't think being city leader is a reason to break the rules. It's pretty clear Valk is not a War leader in Hashan.

Not sure what you're looking for, though. We said it was an accident becaues you were in the wrong place at the wrong time--we have no way of knowing you're on mobile and not with the two other combatant hashani that walked by. Accidents won't stop happening just because of the new announce, lol.

My point about the city leader thing is that not a single other city leader would take a single death in a raid on their city so personally.

How about an alternative way to gain a sanction for when a city refuses to respond? Make it annoying as hell like the original room destruction method and easy to disrupt by responders.

Yeah, you do have a way, it's called glance when you first get there. You see someone. You make your presence known. Then the person either leaves or responds. What sort of raiding group doesn't glance into the city?

I'm not taking this personally. It's also not a single death, and not just me. It's just the most blatant violation I've seen recently. It also wasn't a raid. It's not a raid if you're not in the city, and no one is aware it's a raid.

I don't think Finkle and Yzarin were aware either, as no one said anything over city or army. They're siblings, they do stuff together, and you were at the entrance to the city.

You also didn't 'say it was a mistake' at first, you argued that it was 100% fine, which is why we're still discussing it.

Not a War leader or a duelist! Why would I respond to what I don't want to deal with unless I have to (PK) with more PK? Besides like I said, it's not just Mhaldor. It's everyone lately.

Pretty sure we all just clarified that, if you are a known defender and you move to a room adjacent to that of an aggressive team, you are declaring hostilities. It's also doubly hostile since you're a known sniper. Good day

You're a city leader -- give some orders then.

Or if you really just want to vent steam there's nothing wrong with that either

You're a leader of Hashan, you're going to have to accept that if you walk next to a raiding party (yes, it's still a raid if they are at defendable or just outside of that) with other defenders, you're going to be attacked.

If you feel it wasn't justified, you can hire. If you think it's more out of line than that, you can issue.

  • I think we acknowledged I did not walk adjacent to them, but was there all along, before they got there, and unaware of their presence.

@Cooper that's basically against everything Nicola just stated in her post. No, you don't get to attack someone just because they were standing next to where you decided to raid.

The post didn't say 'Leaders of the city are exempt from this rule, they are totally open PK anytime they're in their city'

Not how Seneschal works. Like I said, the death is just a nuisance, it's the pattern that I'm really speaking out against.

Good grief... I forgot what thread I was in. So much raaaar.

This technically happened today, since it was like 5am when I hit it... but after way too many hours of straight bashing yesterday/through the night I finally hit 90! From 96% of 89 to 1% of 90. All in a day's work.

    Commence uphill battle...
