I bought 5 globes today. A quiver I can't use, stupid common dummy pieces, a box of parts, a bone hummingbird, and some lucky. So, credits credits credits credits crits. Could have been worse.
You guys are playing the long odds when you only get 5 globes. I know that they're expensive though. Out of the 30 that I bought, only 2 had big-ticket items.
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.
Nub wasn't wearing armour... Inadvertently, I (we both, actually) found out he had no pants/shoes on, when I looked at him to see he had no armour. It was scarring.

Didn't wanna start a new thread and this seems relevant enough to the last few pages...
SANCTIONS
Raiding is a lot of fun, and it's a great way to contribute to the faction dynamic of Achaea, but
attaining a sanction should be done so with a little care. Until a sanction is in place you need
roleplay justification for any attack on another person. Wanting to raid, or needing kills to gain a
sanction is not sufficient justification.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, in the absence of Marks, Infamous and Dauntless, how do you get a sanction?

By the enemies engaging you. You have justification to attack people who are actually defending their city against you. The sanction system was put in place to make raids more opt in (with strong RP pressure to do so since there are enemies in your city). Any raid that doesn't have a monk already functions this way usually. Wait for defenders to come, kill them.
Which is perfectly reasonable and I completely agree with. The murky parts and gray areas of this situation are such as which started this discussion in the first place though. Also why is my font crazy!
Regular defenders walking past? If you stand there unresponsive to them being adjacent things could go horribly upside down. It's not as if one could magically know someone was accidentally walking by, or on their phone, or just logged in. You see regular defenders move into your alertness and it has a full appearance of 'I'm here to defend'! One of the big parts of group raiding is being proactive and not standing there waiting to be fish food.
I would say if they've moved anywhere near you, you're fine (barring the obvious 18 yo with 0 might). The issue was more killing someone (radiance, displace) before they've even become aggressive towards the raiders, as a non-raider or whatever the case may be.
I wouldn't let anyone stand adjacent if they aren't a certified newb/0% might person. That's aggressive to me.
Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
Yeah, I think going adjacent to the raiders constitutes sufficient RP justification ("I killed them because I assumed they were trying to remove me from their city"). If it's a clueless novice, warn them and be nice. Frequent defender is fair game at that point though. They put themselves in danger.
Honestly, it would be nice if you could allow soldiers to be freely killed in order to gain a sanction when you're actually raiding, without some people taking that as an excuse to treat every soldier as Open PK while inside their own city and then claiming "Well, I was trying to get a solo sanction." Unfortunately that's not the playerbase we have.
How about an alternative way to gain a sanction for when a city refuses to respond? Make it annoying as hell like the original room destruction method and easy to disrupt by responders.

That's kinda what I was going for in raves but as everyone who responded pointed out, it would be abused to fuck.

I mean, the whole reason it was changed was to give the defense the choice there - so raiders are forced to bring fun, fairish fights in order to get the defenders to respond.
I think it works fine as is, usually. It also gives raid leaders a convenient excuse to limit numbers when they want to create a fair fight but someone else in their city might say "Why should we show any honor/mercy to our sworn enemy?" etc. Everyone seems to understand why we limit numbers when it's literally we can't accomplish anything if they don't respond, so we need to make it appealing.

What happened with Mhaldor was not me walking in adjacent, it was me being there for 10-20 mins before hand, or longer, before they showed up, and the first me being aware of it was being yanked -out- of the city, not even inside to attempt sanction.
It was so funny during the raid last night! Targossas responded with awesome numbers and it went downhill quick! Everyone in the party starts saying, "GTFO arrgh blarrhbalrh!! Here's what it looked like Hahahahahah
People start disappearing and I'm like, "I got this...I can just tumble past everyone because that makes sense to me!"
