This afternoon, I've been exploring with verbose on. I've found that there is a ton of imagination, history, humor and folklore hidden in the room descriptions! Here are some of the fun, funny and intriguing gems I've found:
People such as these protested when the casino opened, saying that the city would end up spending more money on the cost of helping destitute gamblers then it could ever receive in taxes. The city, of course, cares little for the destitute and poor.
There is an old legend of one of the great merchant princes having several lions behind the gates of his warehouse to protect his merchandise.
A long stone wall protects people from falling off the edge but it is said that many jump to their deaths here....On occasion, bodies are pulled out of the river downstream.
A dingy tattoo parlour sits directly to the west. Its wide plate glass window is decorated with a variety of possible tattoos. Everything, from a tiny heart or rose to a gigantic wyvern or skull, is available. Inside a customer sits on a plush leather chair gritting his teeth against the pain of the needle poking into his arm. He holds a bottle of whiskey in his hand, as do his friends that stand around him. Getting the tattoo appears to be a spur-of-the-moment decision.
An old story is that when the Shallamese invaded the city their vaunted Paladins attempted to cross the river to the Cyclade. Unfortunately, they did so in full armour and the boats sunk.
The rich merchants dislike having to look into their neighbours' bedrooms to see them walk about naked.
How do you turn on verbose? This looks really fun as I love reading room descriptions
Yep, VERBOSE is the command. It changes every room desc to the long one. I really enjoy doing it when I'm in a creative mood or an entirely new zone!
Was a pretty good time for me. Just woke up, had my breakfast, wanted to raid. Hashan had 12 people that were known to defend, about 8 showed up to actually defend. We had 4 when we started. A few more arrived on our side tracked in after we all went through 1-3 starbursts.
We sent some of those home again, and we didn't start with that number. But since you weren't there you wouldn't know that. Perhaps let those who were there make your arguments for you. Or whatever, visit the rants section?
7v9 to start a raid doesn't seem unfair at all. Sure, blows to have some super-artied monk kicking your ass a little, but that's life.
I won a thing at humgii racing, in other news! 188 credits. Suck it, Sugardown conspirators, I've finally made something off of your barefaced racketeering.

Not complaining about numbers. Just timing. This was the third in a row at this similar time, which is quite late for some, and at awkward times for others, many of us want to be just leaving around the time the raid hits, and feel obliged to stay. Sure, that's on us I guess, but like I said. Frustrating is al.

It's just when I'm around, @Valkyn. Legit anytime the timing on a raid sucks and you see me, it's 100% my fault. I wish I could play main stream est time, but it just doesn't work like that.
Edit: Targossas and Ashtan both had 3 on qwho and Mhaldor had 2. Hashan was the only choice.
You rip into a House Tsez air mage with your massive, deadly claws. You have scored an OBLITERATING CRITICAL hit! You have slain a House Tsez air mage, retrieving the corpse. Your soul cries out in ecstasy as it reaches new heights of power. You have advanced to level 105. You have reached the illustrious level of 1st Heir to Ashaxei's Legacy. A large pile of sovereigns spills from the corpse.
You are not fallen or kneeling. You rip into an umbral behemoth with your massive, deadly claws. You have scored a WORLD-SHATTERING CRITICAL hit!!! You have slain an umbral behemoth, retrieving the corpse. A crystallised rock tumbles out of the corpse of an umbral behemoth. A broken skullbone tumbles out of the corpse of an umbral behemoth. A group of 2 ginger roots tumbles out of the corpse of an umbral behemoth. A bellwort flower tumbles out of the corpse of an umbral behemoth. Some bayberry bark tumbles out of the corpse of an umbral behemoth. A goldenseal root tumbles out of the corpse of an umbral behemoth. A mountainous pile of sovereigns spills from the corpse.
A new area opens and @Penwizeisn't the one to kill the dragon-killing monstrosity!
- (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place." - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely." - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")." - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish." - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."

Xadens oldest daughter got married today. It was a joyous occasion, made all the more special by the mountains of deathsights to the umbral behemoths. Thank y'all for adding to the ambience

You say in an all-consuming, frosty voice, "Duanatharic."
You quickly utter "Duanatharic" and your wings flare with power before swiftly carrying you up to far above a glimmering ocean.
Far above a glimmering ocean (indoors). A sigil in the shape of a small, rectangular monolith is on the ground. You see exits leading north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, and northwest.
The harbour of Tasur'ke. A ladder of long, soft leaves comprises a wispy Weaver's Fern along the ground. Sweat glistens on the bare chest of a brawny dockhand. The eternal roar of the mighty ocean wreathes this elaborate marble shrine, a vivid testimony to the grace and power of He who is Lord of the Wine-Dark Sea. A small shard of obsidian lies nearly hidden on the ground. The following ships are docked here: 10 Thalassian seastriders, 31 Windcutters, and 2 War Galleys. You may BOARD a docked ship or enter the wilderness map from here. You see a single exit leading west.
Kenway emerges from a churning whirlpool scant yards from shore and falls in a heap, looking dazed.
That magic you see in a newer player's eyes (well, not literally, but you get the idea) when they're interacting with things or people that excite them greatly.
It's not a magic you often get to experience yourself past a certain amount of years playing on Achaea (and when you do, you treasure it greatly), so it's often living vicariously through the younger generation you're helping shape into better characters that keeps that magic alive. I love that.
I got to see a bit of that today and it just makes me very happy.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby

It is a rotten time for me and I think quite a few others so there is going to be frustration. That's life.
