Deucalion, the Righteous Fire has bestowed His divine truedisfavour upon you. It will last for approximately 15 Achaean months.
I honestly didn't know if anyone would beat my punishment of ten. Hats off to you, Mo. 15 days with crap skills and 1/3 of the active playerbase in our timezone wanting our head on a pike. Feeling like a vacation is in order.

You could issue me politely asking for a reduction or alternative IG punishment. TDFs are fine for Order departure, but 15 days is rough, given that TDFs make some classes completely incapable of combat. Not to mention it deprives the Targs of -fun- fights with recent traitors, since you can't fight back.
I might've had a 7 day when I quit Babel's order. 15 is more than twice that. Eww.
Makes my three days of TDF + one day of maggot seem like child's play!
Edit: That first 24 hours was brutal as hell, though, with that plus a class change - but since it was short, it was mostly fun with a side of "oh god what am I doing". You guys looks like you're in for a very grueling round of not-fun.

You only got 3 days and maggot? You should feel cheated. 4 zaps, 10 day tdf, and a buncha rp almost flushed. System keeps spamming me out to "HOLD BREATHE". No grueling rounds of not fun, though. I like even fights and in no world could anything I do be considered even at this point. I can't imagine much else is planned beyond that, though. Being on opposite ends of everyone does suck at times, but at least I won't see another divine to zap me for a week at least.
I ran through 4 classes last night, and the only one I could come up with a kill for was serpent. Really wanted to give Targ a chance for some retribution, but also really glad Eleusis raided them. Probably just focus on my haikus for now.
On a side note: do venoms not auto refill from rift?

Could be worse. IIRC some Mhaldorian divine made a traitor open PK to the city for 2 RL weeks
Edit: For Austere, without a TDF, that honestly might be a reward.
Yeah, I already consider myself open pk to the city for the time being. Feel free to come poke(watch out for those guards since I'm probably not leaving with a tdf), but be prepared to be poked back in a week and a half. I'm not the type to issue anyway.
My thoughts about you guys leaving aside, I've always hated TDFs as punishment for IC action. I'm all for consequences and the like, but TDFs should be reserved for admin punishment because, as @Xinna pointed out, it essentially makes the game unplayable until its done. The few occasions when I've had TDFs, I've just logged out until its gone, because the aspect of the game that I enjoy (PvP) is impossible to do without trans skills for most, if not all classes. I know for a fact that I'm not the only person who reacts that way, as shown by exhibit A in which @Austere is thinking about QQing till the disfavor runs out. Can't even blame him!
Petitioning once again to make TDF an admin-only punishment, and make gods be a little more creative when it comes to IC punishment for IC actions. Or, alternatively, make TDF (and TF if you feel the need) not affect class/main skills, so that doing something to warrant IC punishment doesn't make the game unplayable for those of us who play for the combat side of things. Like my post to sign the petition people! (Shameless forum point propaganda too)
You can't have TFs as a reward for IC things and TDFs as a punishment for only OOC things, though. I mean, you could, but you know what I mean.
TFs don't make the game unplayable for anyone. I don't see how these things are even remotely linked, beyond the name being similar. Its just not relevant, imo.
Or maybe have disfavours/favours not affect main skills. Make them solely affect miniskills or at the skill affecting tier the could double up on stat effects?

TFs are a big advantage as has been talked about in the past, and it's not like they're not 100x as common as tdf's. If you can get a huge IC advantage by pleasing a god, you should be able to get a huge IC disadvantage by displeasing a god, too.
Though the better solution imo is to just delete/nerf both a lot.

Edited this into the original post, good call. Any change to how TDF works that makes it still possible to play the game with one will fix the problem as far as I'm concerned.
edit: @Kiet thats still another problem in and of itself, and has nothing to do with the fact that TDF makes the game unplayable for combat-oriented people. And I really don't see the TF problem as much of a problem at all. It gives you an extra point of stats around the board for a day or two (usually), and they are in an ideal world available to everyone. And before you say its not true because Mhaldor doesn't have an active god and Targ does, and thus this change is biased towards Targ, remember that I'm currently advocating for those people who just became our enemies to get their skills back.
It's extra stats + free algiz that stacks with other favours and algiz itself. I doubt you're arguing out of faction loyalty, obviously, but TFs are a pretty hefty reward anyway. If there's only a positive to keeping relationships with gods that would get you frequent tf's, and no possible punishment for messing up the relationship, it becomes more gamey to me.
Like I said, though, TDFs/TFs could both just get removed/reworked to be less combat-altering too.
+1 stats and 15% damage reduction is not in any way comparable to having the pinnacle abilities from all your skills removed from your character for several days. Give me a TF as a Knight, I'll hit a little harder and tank a little better, "OP" but it's not like you're incapable of fighting me. Give me a TDF as a Knight and I lose Disembowel and Fury; I am literally incapable of combat in any competitive sense.
Damn straight I'd log out until it was over. Removing the skill hits is a great solution. Give my -1 stats, give me 15% more damage, give me interesting fluff and flavour penalties, but don't remove the abilities that I rely on to play the game.
-- Grounded in but one perspective, what we perceive is an exaggeration of the truth.

You can eat a nut like Saeva said to nullify a tdf. You can't eat anything to nullify the other guy having 25 str and a damage shield
"Don't show your face about here, loyal customer!" seems like a terrible business strategy.
Conversely Deucalion could have sent denizens to hunt them, disfigured them or cursed them and offered truefavours to those that brought them their heads giving both sides of the party things to enjoy. Positive rewards systems where you give something are usually more favourably looked upon than things being taken away,

Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
