You read what is written on an elegant white letter:
Atalkez,

I was terribly pleased to see an apology written to me, and on public
news even! For 98 years now, I have been waiting for such a thing from
you. Reparations and perhaps restitution for all the time you slew my
people for that little winged twit. Alas, it was not the plea to make
amends I was expecting, but some note to a guy whose name I am unsure
how to pronounce. What?s so great about him, anyway?

You better hope you never come back to these parts, buddy. Know if you
ever try, I?ll be waiting.

the Imp Lord

Today I learned how not to write a public post.

Definitely funny, I've been laughing at my mess up all day.
Love it.
• A day of firsts! Led Mhaldor in my first prayer, posted my first news, got to level 73 as a first...
and also got housefavoured for the first time. Not sure what that is exactly, but it's nice to get some sort of recognition!

• Coming back about 2 years ago I was really pissed at missing the Bal'met event..being a Shallam resident at the time.

But nothing prepared me for today..I read the the events for the first time.Events 383.

I was bound to it till i finished it, I encourage anyone who did not witness this event to read it.

The stories and rumours cannot explain the enormity of it.Its a really well produced RP event.

If you want awesome.. @Sarapis - This shit hit hard, listening to it at the time.
-spoilered for length-
(Gods): Sarapis says, "You all deserve much credit, for without your efforts the Gods would not have
had a clear path to Bal'met."

You feel a great weight lift from you as your soul is summoned from your body, to be brought before
the hooded and inscrutable form of Sarapis, the Logos, resplendent in His power.

Though you cannot see His face within the shadows of His grey hood, you need not look upon the
visage of the Creator to know that the words He speaks require no base, thrumming physical material
to create the sounds that form in your head.

"Achaeans. My children. This is the last time I will speak to you."

"The bright sun will dim to cool embers and the stars that wheel in the night sky will disappear
before My task will be done."

"When there was no time, no spacial dimensions, nothing but Myself as Ayar, there was the Fire."

"Created as the first and greatest of My works, it was through the Fire that all else was made
manifest, from time and matter to Gods and Dragons."

"But by doing so, by giving form to My power such that it be something other than unfocused, raw
capability, there was a cost, that I paid willingly - no longer was I all that was, and thus no
longer did I have knowledge of all that was and would be."

"I know what it is to experience the limitations of lesser forms. I experienced all that Proteus did,
and in the end I absorbed His experiences into Myself."

"Since that time, I have greatly relished watching Creation and all its myriad parts, for a part of
Me has been able to appreciate the incredible struggles, the glorious victories, the ignominious
defeats, the treacherous betrayals, the great love affairs, the eternal rivalries, and the rest of
the ebb and flow of your daily lives."

"And then came this Bal'met, whose existence I did not forsee, and whose threat I did not appreciate
until it was nearly too late."

"It is not that I wished harm on the many that perished, Divine and mortal both, in this devastating
war to end all wars."

"But ever have I been content to let my Creations play out as they will. If a God dies, it is part
of the turbulence of existence. All returns to the Fire from which it was ultimately conceived."

"Destroying Ashaxei set the Fire into a state of less than perfect resonance, but even then, I was
content to watch, for this did not yet threaten the foundations of existence."

"By the time Maya and I realized what Bal'met truly planned, and what His aims had been all along,
we were nearly too late."

"Through Aeon's sacrifice and the courage of the many mortals and Gods who fought to defeat Bal'met,
we have saved all that has been, is, and will ever be."

"But Maya, whose sacrifice you must never forget, for She gave up the Divine to save all, was
correct - only I can repair the immense damage that has been done to the Fire."

"All My will must be bent to this task, for already it is only through My exertion of power beyond
your ken that the Fire still burns."

"It shall take Me nigh unto a very lonely eternity. I must go beyond Creation to where the Fire
itself resides in all of its immense grandeur, and there are none who can join Me."

"It has been an honour surpassing any that I conceived of to have been witness to your stories and
to, occasionally, even take a small part in them."

"I shall miss you all more than you know."

"Goodbye."

A sense of overwhelming loss floods you as Sarapis, the Logos, departs Creation.

Your soul fills your body and once again you find yourself within the corporeal world, the final
words of the Logos ringing in your ears, perhaps never to dim.

A sense of overwhelming loss floods you as Sarapis, the Logos, departs Creation.
Yeah pretty sure quite a few of us may have shed some real tears over that one.
What doesn't kill you gives you exp.

• Eh. Their loss.

The more RP in Achaea, the better.

Slightly miffed about so-called "novices" (18 years, artied to the teeth, 102844% my might) explaining to me that our RP standards for newbies were too high. Don't really get why you make the effort to play a MUD if you don't like reading.
Hmm I haven't actually noticed this. In fact I've seen the opposite out of most of the obvious ones.

Maybe the influx from the other games is coloring this somewhat?

Especially when they go as far as to insinuate that this game is not for someone because they cannot help but be OOC in public. Where did that even come from?
rp standards, yes.

As far as complaints about novice requirements, I'm not sure what the Academy requirements even are these days. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were possibly a bit more involved than people might necessarily expect, though. However, I will say (being as vague as I can, which is pretty easy since I'm not privy to most of the discussions) that there's a fair amount of work being done on changing novice training and House progression in Targossas right now, so if you're willing to stick with it you might see some changes soon, and may even be in a position to influence what those changes are.
The novice requirements in the Academy are not that bad - I have had quite a few "true" novices going through them without any issues whatsoever (You can ask @Magenta) and I never had problems with them coming back from Aetolia or Imperian when I needed a break from Achaea. Elawien is one of my first characters that I've had on the Good side of the game save for Maive, who was my very first one (but nothing happened with her, weird!) :surprised:

Today, as of right now, the Academy tasks are a lot easier than what they were when I was on Maive. So, I have to thank @Magenta and a few other people I can't remember off the top of my head for that.

To back me up on this, @Orzo stated them to be: "I don't find the Targossas ones that bad and actually pretty important since "Good" isn't exactly like the definition of real world Good.  I did like the Ardent Handbook, and bought one on Orzo, since it has a ton of good information, pretty well written, and the lore is kinda neat and you will basically be totally lost if you do not read it and know basically the standard definitions for our factions."

As for what I did today, I got a free burger from Ruby Tuesday for my birthday next week and two coupons from DQ for an ice cream cake and BOGO blizzards with the title: "We didn't forget your birthday?! SEE!" :chuffed:

I also, um, did some more on upcoming changes because I'm useful when I want to be. :(
