    @Synbios: problem might be that they're saying it over newbie which could be a bit of a grey area of whether or not PK rules apply (since it's almost expected for people to be a little insane on that channel).

    Now if they Yell it out for all to hear within the area, that could be another story.

    Killing someone for being OOC on the newbie channel is hardly an adequate RP justification. That's something to deal with by the administration, not IC.

    Someone issued her a "combat challenge". You start with a base of 100 rating, and the rankings reset just a few days ago so there are only 33 people on the rankings right now. There are only 8 people that have more than 100 rating right now.

    Rovelda is odd, but she's getting involved in whatever she can while at a level and age where failing isn't a bad thing.

    In response to the question above, about killing 'tards. in Ashtan - you can't do worse to them than what Ashtani have done. One annoying obvious troll got enemied, died to guards, then got alchemy rezzed twice on a guard stack. Satisfying though I'm sure it was, it was disappointing to see people act so childishly.

    @Luhar I was really hoping they'd do it again after I grumbled at them, disfavouring that group would have been far more satisfying than any cheap griefing of a newb.

    Why not? Everyone is listed in the XP rankings and the explorer rankings, so there's absolutely no reason for the combat rankings to be "exclusive" in any way. You still have to be able to beat people to get a high ranking.

    Ironically though, it's probably somewhat harder for the really established combatants to get a good ranking, at least in the initial stages. They start out with the same starting score as everyone else, so beating them doesn't net you a better rank than beating some newbie with a rating of 100, so people will always seek to fight less scary people at first, which means that the top combatants will have a harder time getting a rating worth challenging them for.

    Yeah, but if the "top" is rather thin and the people there aren't around much at similar times, it might not happen. Not quite sure if it's actually that much of a problem in practice. It's more a problem I thought about in theory.
