    I think it's safe to say that Ashtan CT as a whole is pretty stupid :(

    Edit: Ashtan as a whole has improved over time, but there's still a huge contingent who wants Ashtan to be a chatroom and not a text-city in a roleplaying game.

    The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. A thick stone slab stained with dried blood looms here, tainting the area with the profane worship of Babel. The city gates of Ashtan stand proudly here, black and gold banners waving defiantly at those who would challenge the Bastion of the North. A runic totem is planted solidly in the ground. A cute little humgii is sitting here placidly, attached to a leash. A ladder of long, soft leaves comprises a wispy Weaver's Fern along the ground. A Shadow Amazon stands ready to defend Ashtan, whip in one hand and darkbow in the other. A gleaming wooden sign is posted here. Mounted astride a grim chaos hound, a black rider patrols the city. Casually sending electricity to dance between the fingers of her iron gauntlet, a smirking War Witch of Ashtan stands guard. Encased in gold-plated armour, a knight of the Illuminati stands motionless in silent vigil. A sentry of the Vanguard maintains his vigil, a flame-blackened bardiche planted beside him.  Kilalli is here, sprawled on the floor. You may ENTER SUBDIVISION from here.

    I swear that is ALL this novice does. You'd think she'd be trampled to death or starved by now.

    Edit: Ashtan as a whole has improved over time, but there's still a huge contingent who wants Ashtan to be a chatroom and not a text-city in a roleplaying game. 
    Important things that need to be discussed on CT happen almost never. So it's natural that the things that are discussed on CT are unimportant at best, or inane at worst. People saying hello and goodbye, asking for tattoos, asking where something is, asking for refills, observing that someone died, observing that someone has a silly title, observing that Zsarachnor's running around. This is true for every city. One alternative is silence. Another is people inventing culture and pushing it on CT, but that is unlikely to happen.

    An imperial guardsman peers about himself unscrupulously.

    You smile softly.

    An imperial guardsman exclaims, "If it ends up as the filling to a nice pie, it wasn't me!!"

    You give a trillingly melodic laugh.

    "Heh heh heh," Eileifr chuckles.

    "Eep!" Loraine screams in fright.

    You say to an imperial guardsman, "Dove pie, then?"

    Eileifr says, "Just dovley."

    You grin mischievously at Eileifr.

    "Ewwwwwwwww!" says Loraine in disgust.

    An imperial guardsman exclaims, "You are full of good ideas and intelligence, Senator. A fine choice for Cyrene!!"

    Loraine giggles happily.

    You beam broadly at an imperial guardsman.

    You smile broadly and say to an imperial guardsman, "Well, thank you! I hope to do Cyrene proud."

    An imperial guardsman says, "Now that I know we agree on fillings for a nice bird pie, I have every faith in you, madam."

    You grin mischievously at an imperial guardsman.
