A lot of you won't remember Adalie (she's been dormant for a long while) and not many know the alt I've been on lately, but still, it occurred to me that some of my favorite friends are people I have met because of Achaea. I've not lived in Philly super long and don't know a lot of people here, so I was wondering if there were any Achaeans in the area. I have a few friends in the more northern Jersey/NYC area (I was living in NYC before), but if anybody nearer to Philly would like to get in touch through social media and/or possibly even hang out, that would be great! Went to Inkcarceration in Mansfield, OH with eldest/youngest sons and wife. Not bad but I had a story with it (went because before COVID my youngest son and I went to see Slipknot in MA, but my wife was worried about the pit. So I bought these tickets so she could be more relaxed and see the band she now is obsessed with despite me listening to them since 2000 when they were just "that shitty growl band" lol)

Decided to also get Louder Than Life Tickets so I'll be there too (1 son flying in Thurs FL to KY, 1 is driving from OH). I will be there Friday - Sunday because I have a new job and need to attend 10 hour days of training but we get a 3 day weekend.

We will also be going to Slipknot (KnotFest) in Tampa and COTA F1 in Austin, TX (not a fest but.. )

Tempted to do the Welcome to Rockville too. Curious what else is around.

This may be slightly corny (which is just me in a nutshell, bear with me) but I wanted to take the time out of character, out of game to address the community.

I want to thank each and every member I have met, and those I have yet to meet, for creating a space that is as friendly, open, welcoming, and helpful as it is. In today's online climate you rarely see such a community. Very rarely.

I've had more fun in the past several days playing Achaea than I have had with any game in almost a decade.

Be proud of yourselves, keep standing for the tenets that have lead the community here. This game may be niche, but it shines brighter than the sun.

At the beginning of the year, @Alrena decided to GM a DnD campaign set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It was fun! It's also finally wrapping up. Since I really enjoyed the setting, I want to host a game of my own. It'll be using a more bespoke game system called Only War, and you won't need to have much prior knowledge of the lore or system. We'll teach!

This'll be a pretty action-oriented game, where the players are members of the Imperial Guard, one of faceless trillions, off to fight and die in endless battles against the enemies of mankind. Think Band of Brothers, Predator (the very 1st one), that bit in Forrest Gump, Aliens, and Rambo 2 for inspiration! Sneaking, stealing, shooting, screaming, and dying messily will all be on the agenda.

We'll be using a Discord server to coordinate and playing over roll20.net. It'll probably be primarily text, with voice only if everybody's comfortable with it. Time so far is around 11-12 PST (2-3 EST) on weekends. If you're interested, please PM me or respond here!

I'm a little south of Austin for Veteran's Day weekend, land in San Antonio on Saturday afternoon and leave Monday afternoon. Old roommate getting married on Sunday afternoon. Gauging interest on eating/hanging out on Saturday evening, I can afford to stay out late because of the way my schedule plays out. If people hang around or live nearby and are interested, can probably do stuff late on Sunday or grab breakfast on Sunday and Monday. But before all that, probing for interest.
