Hi. I am very new to Achaea and have been trying very hard to figure out a kill path for 1v1 combat as Apostate. As it stands now I am trying to truelock people and I continuously fall short. I wrote my own affliction tracker that is -okay- but I am having some real difficulties trying to figure out a kelp stack and goldenseal stack that actually works. I built a trigger that will switch stacks given if my current target is paralyzed and either eats to cure asthma or impatience. Further I have a trigger that will switch based on if I think they have impatience and asthma and cure for impatience (and vice-versa) I suppose the difficulty I am having is the set up which in the case of my kelp stack is as follows.

sicken, clumsy -> sicken, sensitivity -> (sicken, weariness if needed to lock) -> sicken, asthma ->impatience, stupidity -> sicken, confusion, try and sicken, sicken twice (to try and land slickness)...but at this point I will either seem them smoke or focus leaving me to start over again and just keep repeating until I am dead.

I suppose my question is, should I stick with trying to true lock or is there better, more reliable kill paths I should be working on?

Thanks!

I've been dormant for nearly 3 years, and I'm thinking of retiring, which would net me 3400 credits to play with. Apostate seems like the best class for me! I was wondering if anyone could shed some insight on how to spend my credits.

From my day I remember apostates speccing for intellect is this still the best case? I believe grook has the highest intellect iirc.

What skills should I focus on first?

What artifacts should I get?

I want to get back into pvp eventually but hunting will be my main focus because I know I will need some health before I get into combat.

Just looking for the universally accepted skill that Apostates bash with. I know Shamans use Bleed, and I'm told it's similar to Evileye Bleed. I know the Willpower drain on Deadeyes is pretty harsh, but I don't mind getting a Circlet of the Will if it would help with bashing.

having said that, is Decay still superior? (IF so, totally know what I'm going to try to push for during the next Classlead submission. Worked great in Imperian.)

It's been awhile since I've played Achaea seriously - 10 years or so - and I've recently returned. A lot has changed and it has been somewhat of a chore getting back up to speed, but still fun. Anyway, I'm a lvl 78 Apostate, Human, specced for CON, and have set the goal of achieving dragon. I have 1000 credits and 5 mayan crowns to apply to that goal and am soliciting advice on how they would be best utilized. I already have a SOA. I understand Apostate is not the most efficient class for bashing to dragon but it is my preferred RP class and I am relearning PVP concurrently - so I'll make it work.

Any advice on artefacts will be most welcome, as well as, any advice on getting back into the game or any general guidance on Apostate life. Thanks for the help, glad to be back in the realms and look forward to seeing you guys in-game!

For reference, below are some of the artefacts I thought would have the most utility:

Ring of Vitality Level 1 Health Regen: 300 credits

Ring of Draconic Vigour Level 2 Health Regen: 850 credits

Ring of Meditation Level 1 Mana Regen: 300 credits

Ring of Lucretian Clarity Level 2 Mana Regen: 850 credits

Rings: (to increase how much a health or mana elixir heals you)

Mayan ring: 500 credits (increases health by 10%)

Ceylonese ring: 1000 credits (increases health by 20%)

Logosian Ring: 2000 credits (increases health by 30%)

Ring of Noxtra: 500 credits (increases mana by 10%)

Ring of Somnustra: 1000 credits (increases mana by 20%)

Ring of Lunastra: 2000 credits (increases mana by 30%)

Collar of Ceylon 10% increased damage 400 credits

Collar of Diablerie 15% increased damage 800 credits

Collar of Agatheis 20% increased damage 1600 credits

Stygian pendant 6% increased chance 1200 credits

Sash of Caymus: 2500 credits (+3 intelligence)

I have an apostate character I've been pondering playing some more, but I'm not really sure whether they work as a class without significant credit investment. Unless I'm wrong, they need Necromancy to hunt, but their combat is mostly bound up in Evileye and Apostasy, right? Meanwhile Evileye really needs to be transed to be worthwhile in combat.

So is there an established way of apostates being worthwhile in combat without being tri-trans, or can anyone think of one? Otherwise I might want to switch to a more alt-friendly class.

The title of this thread is self explainatory. I also am interested in strategies vs other combatants. Though I am new here, I have noticed how important it is to be prepared against others. What are the weakness and strengths of this class and what's the most difficult class for apostates to defeat? Feedback is much appreciated.
