An "Agree" button should be added to the forums

  • Saw this on another forum, thought it was a fine idea
  • "Like" seems to work fine for basically the same purpose.

It would flow better if it was Agree and Disagree. Agree goes well for statements, Like does okay. But Like is good for like pictures
  • That was quick!
  • So this was why the forums were down for so long yesterday.
Janeway: Tuvok! *clapclap* Release my hounds!
    Krenim: Hounds? How cliche.
Janeway: Tuvok! *clapclap* Release my rape gorilla!
    Krenim: ...We'll show ourselves out.
  • I generally distinguish WTF from disagree by WTF being a little bit darker over all (outlines being a little thicker, I guess). Agree is kind of halfway between the two, but closer to disagree for me. I'll probably still be able to tell them apart if I see them side by side, and will just have to move my head a foot closer to the screen to figure out individual ones, so not too much of a change, really.
  • Yeah, I was wondering why Tecton wtf'd a post. Then I was like 'oh'.
  • I voted disagree and clicked agree. Which takes precedence?!

  • None. It's like dividing by 0

You'd think "agree" would be a smiley face, not a blank stare.
  • It is, you just have to really squint to see it. Basically a tiny version of
    image
  • The forums had an 'agree' option all along, it was just disabled.

There are also 'awesome', 'insightful' and 'up vote' options available.
  • Ohh wow! They added it! Thanks @Tecton @Sarapis!!
  • They added it because I disagreed, your welcome.
  • It looks a good deal like the WTF icon...
Tvistor: If that was a troll, it was masterful.
I take my hat off to you.

We should complain and make them change the face.

Or at least change the colour.

    White for Agree
    Red for Disagree
    Green for Like
    Blue for LOL
    Yellow for WTF

    or something
I'd prefer a tick for agree, cross for disagree, then the current wtf, like and lol icons, personally. That way they're not even remotely similar.

Unfortunately, that's not something we can customise at this time!

From a little googling, it looks like the icons themselves come from a standard Vanilla spritesheet and probably can't be changed, but that their appearance might be customisable to some extent (colour and the like) through the custom css for the forums. I reached the limit of my css knowledge somewhere between finding something saying it was possible and figuring out exactly how it would be done, though :/
  • It looks like they're CSS-side images rather than actual IMG tags, so if the CSS itself can be customized (which I am almost positive it can be, given one of the CSS files is called custom.css), then they can be modified too. It'd just be a matter of finding out all the things you'd actually have to modify (all the places that the spritesheet shows up, basically), and making a new spritesheet (or spritesheets, if there are secretly multiple).

Could even do it client-side, if you have a CSS injector thingy in your browser, and an alternative spritesheet.

If the custom spritesheet matches up, you wouldn't even have to change anything other than the img paths.

  • Not at all. He could be right, and probably is, but so not worth taking the time to find out.

Taking the time out from the drinking...?
