[Nexus] Aliases and Targetting for the Complete Newb, by a newb.

Hello everyone, welcome to Achaea. Those of you who aren't knew, please help welcome new people like me.

In the first part of my guide, I went over basic maneuvering to the settings menu, and how to use buttons and the like. This one is going to be a tad deeper, and it took me more than five minutes to figure it out. So, here's hoping someone else doesn't have to mess with it as much for some basic functionality.

A lot of being in parties has people calling out Target: <person> or Target: <Thing>. They do this so you can set up your target aliases to attack certain things. When you have your target set as something (the long way of doing this is typing something like, settarget gnoll where it will make Gnoll (Denizen) your target, so you can run through a dungeon and smash your attack keys with impunity.)

It's easier, and quicker, to set up aliases for this sort of thing that can eventually become part of a bigger set of triggers. This alias comes from these guys, at Iron Realms.

First, you're going to want to make sure you are logged in, onto your character and go to your settings again: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/589230457292587018/605288911450800128/unknown.png

Then we're going to see this page:https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/589230457292587018/605289036671614986/unknown.png

And we're going all the way down to the 'Reflexes' tab on the top this time. Not 'Reflex Packages' but 'Reflexes'.

That'll show you a screen that looks something akin to this: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/589230457292587018/605469174638313488/unknown.png

A little about what you're looking at, you're going to want to make sure you're in the '-- main package --' in the dropdown menu. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/589230457292587018/605469279093260307/unknown.png

Then you're going to want to hit that fancy '+ Add' button which brings up the following menu:https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/589230457292587018/605469477328519395/unknown.png

Today we're just adding an alias, so that alias is going to pop up a screen and show up down on the bottom. As I said, this is going to be a targetting alias.

So that brings us to this picture: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/589230457292587018/605470680120688663/unknown.png

In this picture, the Alias Text, t, means that when you type t in, it's going to create a variable for whatever you put after 't' that means denizens (npcs) or players. So if you're in, let's say, Manara Barrow and you want to kill gnolls (and not those poor Mingruk) you'd type 't Gnoll' and it would set the variable you created with this alias, t, to Gnoll.

We named the Alias Target, which changes (alias) undefined into (alias) target.

But all of this work to create the t variable by entering 't' in chat is just a random variable without the next part: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/589230457292587018/605471201615413248/unknown.png

@set t will set the variable, t as your target. So when you next hit attack it will automatically search for anything you have entered as t. That means if you're in a party, and trying to kill another player's character you can type t europae to target me! OR you can hit t gnoll and run through manara automatically targetting gnolls with your attack!

Make sure you hit the save buttons when you're done, or it'll go away: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/589230457292587018/605477363496648821/unknown.png

That's it for part two!
