Cyrene specific class tree?

  • Hey, bladefire was the original neutral knight skill, and as best I can tell, is now the only skill that appears in achaea's main histories that doesn't have a playable version.

Were it not for Cyrenian knight's runelore fixation (and the insanity of adding -another- skill that would have to mesh with weaponmastery) it would be a perfect fit!
  • Bladefire is Paladin only, sorry suckers

Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
  • Originally, bladefire was created and practiced by the secular Guild of Knights, as opposed to the Templar's use of devotion, even if it was paladins who would get it later:

"While the Templars incorporated the sacred Devotions into their martial discipline, we of the secular Knights mastered the arts of Falconry, and instructed the Templars in its use, to the great Benefit of the Common Folk. Are we to cut off all ties with the Church now, simply because it refuses to Involve itself in the Succession?

The founding Master-Smith of the Guild perfected the intricate power of Blade-Fire, which requires the most disciplined and exacting of Training. If we should collapse into Chaos, who shall carry on that Martial Tradition? Shall we allow it to die out, until it is merely a vague memory in the minds of our eldest citizens?"

    (The answer, apparently, was yes)

So, I'd say it's far more fitting for Cyrene!

My personal headcanon for bits of Cyrene has always skewed towards ancient Rome, so something like the Roman legionnaire might be fun. Knight shortsword and shield specialisation with bonuses for being in a shieldwall with your fellows to leverage that infamous Cyrenian zerg and range abilities that favor javelins.

...or maybe just drop all pretenses and give us zergling as a class (though I suppose the Guise talisman makes for a good approximation of Banelings).

Last time I turned Cyrene into a baneling rush some people got their feathers ruffled. >.> But it was undeniably awesome seeing someone get like 15 kills.

The first thing I thought of when someone on page 1 of this thread said something about Cyrene-only, something no outsider had access to, was Cyrene's bathhouse. Three pages, no water-based skill suggestions yet?! Well, the wyrms count, I guess. I had in mind, more like... I dunno. Something nobody suggested yet. Scalding water is a real weapon, for example. Buckets of water have long been mostly-forestal weapons against fires. Maybe with a little water and fire magic, Cyrenians can have water stranges (magi already have weirds) that live in special Cyrenian-only buckets that a Cyrenian runie can use. SPLASH BUCKET AT enemy [something], and the weird attacks from the bucket with a [something] made of shaped hot water, with a chance to do burning damage as if the victim was given the ablaze affliction but only for one tick.

...Yeah, I know. My spiderclass idea was better. *wanders off*
