A few questions, reguarding a few things.

I am new to achaea, like actually new, and im attempting to find a class that will suit me.  I really like shaman, curses and being able to astral peoject sound beastly, but im wondering, is it a viable class for pvp/bashing still? I doubt very much i'll be able to buy the lesson package for new players or the credit thing, so ill have to do without boosts or artefacts .
Currently i think im level 27. Able to kill the small gnolls at least, all ive tried.
I am a member of cyrene, they seem to be the most active at any given time, and i dont really ever see more than a couple shamans in the land..
My race is siren, i have specialised as a sorceress for 15 int, and i have 12 con and stuff i think. I'm told con is better for shamans though, but i dont know that i WILL be keeping shaman, so i dont want to use my only race change to select con.
I will be focusing on grinding until im super strong... if there is another class that might be suitable, please suggest it. Also feel free to address anything in my post. Thank you all for your consideration ~

If you're going to be focusing on grinding as a Shaman, you're going to have a bad time. Your willpower will drain very quickly so you'll have to take fairly frequent meditation breaks. Even with an amulet of the will (artefact that makes your willpower come back faster) and attuning Aelkesh (a spirit that reduces willpower use) I can only bash for about an hour. Other classes (though I couldn't tell you which because I've never played any others) don't have that problem. On the other hand, you might feel that having to take breaks is beneficial to your sanity!

Magi relies on intelligence. I don't know what bashing with a Magi char is like, though. I'd wait for someone else who knows more about other classes to comment!

  • Look, you'll be fine hunting to dragon with any class, what is incredibly important is that you enjoy your time with the class and log in excited to play it, because your first class will be the one you play a lot. People have bashed to dragon as unartied serpent, unartied jester, apostate et al before races were more normalised.

If you struggle with hunting in later levels talk to people, just nudge me IC and I can "bump" into you and help, a lot of players will throw time and assistance to help, but the most important thing is you have fun and want to return and play, so think of that first and foremost and then between you and the other players the rest will fall into place!
  • I like that.. im gonna stick with shaman i think. I hope meditation wont take rl yearssss to complete though

You'll be fine, personal opinion but if you go human con spec you still get a good 12 int with 14 con, the crit and health sip bonus will also be very helpful. Human is also a well balanced race for Pk, some classes are min maxed with others, but human will easily suit your needs (you could also go dwarf giving you 15 con and 12 int with a solid array of resistances).

I still always suggest RP and enjoyability first. Playing a dwarf mechanics wise may be best choice, but if you hate being a dearf you'll probably get bored a lot quicker.
  • I always preferred int spec shaman, and I made it to dragon as one without buying con, sip rings, or bracelets.  A lot has changed though
