Legends of Gaming stream on Twitch

Heya all,

I'm going to be on the first "Legends of Gaming" stream tomorrow on Twitch. Basically, it's an ~12 hour event hosted by Dr. Cat (Furcadia) and Steven Meretzky (of Infocom fame), with music done by George "The Fatman" Sanger (one of the most important folks in the development of video game music) in a kind of Late Night show style. The idea is that everyone on the 'show' has been developing games professionally for at least 20 years.

I'll be on at 12:45 pm Pacific if you want to tune in.

Other people participating include Richard Garriot ("Lord British"), Richard A. Bartle (inventor of MUDs), Graeme Devine (Quake 3, 7th Guest, currently Chief Creator Office @ Magic Leap), Damion Schubert (Shadowbane, Star Wars: The Old Republic), Ed Fries (led the team that created the Xbox), and many more.

Event info and full schedule here: https://www.facebook.com/events/191189097992468

The Twitch stream is linked from there, but for a handy reference it's also here: http://twitch.tv/doctor_cat

We're apparently going to be on the front page of Twitch, so should have quite a lot of viewers cycling in and out. Be one of them!

@Sarapis Relevant question, when the hell are you going to start selling those framed Delphinus maps? I need one. January's monthly promo please.

Heh, never. I could happily make a full-size high-quality jpg of it available though, and you could then order it yourself from one of the many online print makers+framers. That's what I did. Still cost about $400 though, as I have a big fat frame and it's a large picture.

    I'd be down for that.
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.
  • Lord-fucking-British?! Hell yes. You're in good company, Matt. Ultima was one of the first games I played online. Gave me a lot of my interest to pursue Achaea when I saw someone playing it, too!

I'll get it sorted out then.
  • April Fools Day, 2017. Sarapis logs into Achaea with the name "Numbnuts". Calling it now.

Everytime someone suggests a name change to him, they get zapped.

    Would be glorious.

  • Incidentally, just noticed that the individual videos from the day are up if anyone's interested:

    All of them: https://www.twitch.tv/doctor_cat/videos/all

  • For some reason it's being a bitch about playing those videos. Will have to try on my phone later.

@Sarapis I thought you were making up words when you threw out "swanning", but yeah, looked it up. "move about or go somewhere in a casual, relaxed way, typically perceived as irresponsible or ostentatious by others."

    Word of the day.

We've used that word in U.K. for years.
