Old Returning Character

Heya folks,

I used to play a long time ago and I am going to be returning to Achaea to showcase another MUD on my Twitch.tv channel and to save some of my adventures on Youtube.

I have a bunch of artefacts and I was wondering what would be best to pick for a class?

I used to be a PvP Mind Monk before I got that nerfed and I was Magi for a while because of the easy bashing.

I'm currently a Blademaster but if you had my artefacts and you could toss a couple more to PvP and PvE what would you recommend for an old school player? Last time I played was like 5-6 years ago!

All +3 stats
Robes of Magi
Both lvl3 sip ring
Both lvl2 regen rings
Aldar Diadem
Logo Bracelets
Collar of Agathesis (magic dmg)
Lvl 3 Crit Pend
Willpower regen ring

  • Others are better placed to answer those but I remember you well, welcome back :)

  • Oh boy. Welcome back.

If you've advanced in skill you have a ton of options available. Otherwise probably want to stick to monk.

I have no custom systems, I've missed a ton of stuff, and I'm starting fresh. I'm currently a Blademaster but I don't think it's for me.

  • Welcome back! I'd suggest going with either Nexus off the website (it's easy to code) or going mudlet. SVO is free now (there are clans for both mudlet and svo), and there's a tonne of packages out there.

Long time no see, man <3

  • Could go Sylvan with all those toys and plough your way through pvp without even having to think about it.

What do you want to do, Leigh? If you're interested in bashing, I'd switch from Blademaster to Runewarden, though Sylvan may be just as good.

  • I'd like to focus on bashing up over to Dragon and doing some PvP after I've got my feet back on the ground.

I'm being told I could go Monk but I don't have the knuckles or armbands anymore.

I have the stuff for Magi but everyone keeps saying it is yuck now. So I'm sitting here and I don't know which way to go.

Magi are great. Your not going to solo own the world but you have amazing utility and your slow prep is awesome

  • Monks are pretty low tier bashing now, but with the lvl3 str and lvl3 con and sip, you should be all right, even without knuckles/armbands. And monk pvp is so much fun.

I'm looking for something strong with bashing and that I can work on PvP'ing in the future. Do people 1v1 as much anymore or is it mostly group combat now?
  • Multiclass kinda made my mind up for me. Thanks for all of the input and help folks. <3

There's a lot of both, really. You can join the dauntless and one v one as often as you can find someone to fight. There is a lot of room for group if you join one of the more factionalised cities.

He is a coward who has to bring two friends as backup to jump people hunting.

  • In terms of return on credits spent, I'd say pick up Knight (Paladin or Runewarden, if not both) and drop 350 credits on an insignia so you have access to all four Weaponmastery specialisations without the ongoing lesson cost. I'm not personally a fan of two-handed, but the other three specs all have their good points.
