  there -should- be a code to turn specific triggers on and off with an alias, but for the life of me I can't remember it (haven't used nexus in ages)
  
  what you can do, is have a letter or satchel or whatever in your pack, have your gold in that container, trigger putting that container back in your pack, and make an alias that does 
  
  get <container> from pack / get <variable> gold from <container> / put <container> in pack
  
  that's a simple way of doing it that you occasionally see

  Say you have this trigger:
  
  

  ^You get (\d+) gold sovereigns from a canvas backpack\.$
  
  PUT MONEY IN PACK####

  
  You can use the Command Stack Delimiter (which is | (pipeline) by default, but you can change this in Settings > Advanced tab) to do GET MONEY FROM PACK|BUY SHIRT. 
  
  This will make it do both actions one after the other, and they will execute before the trigger comes into effect (so you can buy your shirt and it will automatically put your money away when you're done).
  
  That's the simplest way to achieve what you're looking for, so you can keep your trigger as is without disabling it and forgetting about it.
  
  The other option (more drastic) is to click the thunderbolt icon in the bottom right corner to toggle all scripts on or off manually.

  If you want to stay with your idea, you should make a trigger on the removal message that puts your gold away again. Give that one a sensible name like "keep gold stowed".
  Then you create an alias for the "gold lock". As an action type, you add a script. into the script you put
  

  var goldStowedTrigger = client.reflex_find_by_name("trigger", "keep gold stowed");
  client.reflex_disable(goldStowedTrigger);

  Then you create an alias for the "gold unlock". Again a script action with the following content:

  var goldStowedTrigger = client.reflex_find_by_name("trigger", "keep gold stowed");
  client.reflex_disable(goldStowedTrigger);
