Any interest in in-city poker options?

I was going to submit an idea asking for poker in-city, like blackjack and roulette, but wasn't sure how many people would be interested in it. Problem with the Theran one is it's factionally aligned and disrupting games is far too easy. I think letting cities buy poker would make more use of the code that's already there, but I don't know how hard it'd be. Do people generally like poker?

I would very much so be interested in such a thing.

Also would like to note that the Poker in Thera is rather broken. The minimum bets allowed do not reflect what is actually permitted, and the blinds never take into account actual buyins (such options are not customizable).

For example, say a group of four buyin for 10k, I think the standard ante is what, 50? and the blinds are 50/100. If you view the options, it says a minimum bet is 100g. However, when you actually go to bet/raise, it will not let you unless you bet/raise a minimum of 8.4k or something, which completely ruins the game, since most people end up checking down hands/removes bluffing options etc.

Unless however everyone agrees to buyin for an amount relative to the 8.4k minimum bet, but even that is rather dumb, because the antes and blinds do not reflect such a buyin. I've already bugged it, as I'm sure others have, too, but have heard nothing since.

Targ doesn't need more distractions from fighting.

@Morthif : Do the Bloodsworn Gods have any prohibition on "sinful behavior" such as gambling, excessive intoxication, gleam use, etc? The idea is sound, but I have to wonder if Targ in itself would be okay with it.
  • It'd be fine as long as @Halos sacrifices more doves.

  • Gleam usage is outright banned, excessive intoxication is generally frowned upon, but there's nothing against gambling. We have a floating casino barge.

@Tesha : you guys are killing my poor dove? :( Well, that sucks. I guess I'll have to hide her away somewhere where she can be cute and cuddly and in one piece.

That's like, almost never there / impossible to get on :(

  • Easy peasy lemon squeezy
  • @Skye : It's because they see you coming and pull ropes to sit just offshore with a lookout watching you until you go away again so they can putter back and hitch up once more. The days you find it actually there are the days the lookout falls asleep at his post.

It's OK.  I already gave all my money to Cyrene's dealer

  • Poker?

    I hardly even know her.

Gear up, we aren't goin' for a windy walk here

  • @Skye: There's a warp to the casino barge, if you have a vibrating stick. Trying to get on it any other way is an absolute nightmare.
  • That was my idea. You're welcome.

I love poker, try to play it at least once a week.

The barge could use better ways to access it. I've been on it like twice but I honestly don't pay enough attention to even know my way around targ.

@Caladbolg : I am relieved to know that I am not the only one that still gets lost in Targ, even after all this time.

To the non role-player You have..

5-10 useful rooms. 10-20 shops 40-80 rooms you use to get to said location. and 200 useless rooms there to be blown up.

At least that's what it seems like to me.

Pretty much, Honestly I have a few maps of Targ that Reonna drew me up when I was minister of security and I don't think -anyone- actually knows those rooms exist.

No offense to the builders or anything though. Just not sure why there's typically giant area's with nothing in them that im pretty sure most of the city has no idea even exists.

Honestly even placing a tank there wouldn't be a threat other than for the lols cause no one goes there.

Isn't that kinda how it was in Shallam with the ramparts anyway? >_>

Lots of cities also have/had random spaces of nothing. They had to put a burger bar (bless those burgers!) in Martin's Sorrow/Descent to make it relevant in Ashtan. And even then you barely see people there. Just think of it as opportunity for development.

  • I loved that burger bar :(

You give Serenie, a little snow-white dove to Calcine, humgii of Fire.
Calcine, humgii of Fire frantically takes Serenie, a little snow-white dove and shoves it into his huge mouth, swallowing it whole.

A frenzied cleric screams, "Like more than one halo!"

If there was in game poker I would never have to leave the house again.

Oh, wait, I currently play poker and make green with which I sometimes buy credits so I can play poker? Hrm.

Also fix blackjack so splitting is allowed again.
