Learning Skills: Where is my lesson going?

Maybe I'm being anal here, but I'm not able to buy credits or lessons for a short while. Thus, I'm having to plan out my learning. I've noticed that if I learn exactly what the game tells me I require to learn to achieve a skill, I actually need one more lesson every time to get the skill. Is there a reason behind this?

  • Yeah, I've also noticed that I have to learn one more lesson than the AB thing says.

Yeah, unfortunately, there's some limitations to our engine that causes integers to round down to the nearest whole number - so it may take 35.5 lessons to get to the next ability, it'll say 35, then when you learn 35, it'll say that you need one more! It's something we're trying to improve in future versions of the engine.
I'm curious - there should be several ways around this sort of issue even with only working with integers. Are they all categorically impossible?

Like, if the division is X/Y, doing (X+Y-1)/Y, or doing X/Y and adding 1 if X%Y isn't 0, etc.
