First the frying pan to knock it out, then the whip of love, to make it twitch.

In honesty, the above actually sounds really neat. If I wasn't absolutely entrenched in my class, I'd totally change to it.

Now, if we want to discuss adding that to priests...

Edit: Just realized the "faction" part of that sentence. Yes please!
And I love too                                                                          Be still, my indelible friend
That love soon might end                                                         You are unbreaking
And be known in its aching                                                      Though quaking
Shown in this shaking                                                             Though crazy
Lately of my wasteland, baby                                                 That's just wasteland, baby

@Jurixe: Now you suddenly made me imagine a Cyrene faction-specific skill:

    Glamours

Hiding death within the play of colour and light, practitioners of the art of Glamours can twist the very nature of light, harming enemies either by afflicting them with ailments of the mind, or by physically hurting them with painful bursts of colour and illusory constructs that are as beautiful as they are deadly. They can twist perceptions, tricking them into going in one direction, only to end up in another, going as far as to entrap them in prismatic mazes formed of false visions. Masters of the art can even manipulate the 'primordial colours' of living beings themselves, slaying them by tearing and scattering the unseen colours that compose their very being.
Sounds a lot like Mesmers from the Guild Wars universe.

Actually, picturing Cyrene as a Mesmer metropolis actually makes a frightening amount of sense, and suddenly makes the place quite terrifying.

Ha, a fellow Guild Wars player! You're right, but there's one more thing - I borrowed elements not only from Guild Wars Mesmers, but also from Lusternia's Glamours skill specialisation.

Given that Guild Wars Mesmers give off a thespian image, I'd certainly say they are 3D Cyrenians.

Tagg made serious post, world collapsing, does not compute.
Man, I do them so annoyingly often, then I get into the second paragraph and go 'wtf why am I bothering I'm on -forums-' and delete it.
  • Now onto Guild Wars, yay! I can get behind all of this. I love that this has turned into such a discussion, as it has brought forth a ton to consider and think about. Thank you all so far!

Only remembered for what we have done."

EDITED FOR YOU: Since the site doesn't seem to enjoy image hotlinking:

Damn, I miss Ragnarok Online...though I don't miss the grind.

I feel that Ragnarok has a worse grind, surprisingly. Despite the huge amount of time it takes to get to (close to max) level as the class you choose, you must then be "reborn" as a novice against and do it over. Also imagine that every time you killed Belladonna she had a 0.01% (that's an accurate amount) chance to drop an item that you need in order to be useful.

@Mariki RP is what you make it, and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. This is a great time to join Mhaldor, and it is a great place for an ambitious player to make a name for themself. However, you'd probably have to put aside bashing to dragon for a bit as I'm sure they'd urge you to do quite a few more pressing things beforehand. Keep in mind that in Mhaldor RP will find you, and you might not get a lot of relaxation time but it is very rewarding just the same.

You mention Ragnarok Online, and the first thing I think of is Achaean Occultists being super novices. Gods damned it.
    My work here is done.

And thank you @Synbios ! Yeah seems like the hotlinking was failing me there.

  • Grinding in all games is so stupid. I just can't do it.
  • It depends on the battle system and how much area you have to cover. I liked grinding in SWTOR because it had a fun combat system, but I always hate grinding the DQ games.

Anyway, to remain on topic, make sure you join organizations that are populated to your liking.
  • Aye, aye, Cap'n Obvious.
  • You know what, on hindsight, I do believe that Glamours would work quite nicely with Cyrene.

  • You don't have too much spare time on your hands until you hotlink all those to the appropriate GWWiki pages. :D
