I think the correct question would be, what are Tori gates made of to survive some sort of bombing (even if that top one was not atomic in nature) or a tsunami that clearly leveled the town/city it was built.

Nah, there's a full video and  a story on it. The boy had moderate wounds to his leg afterwards, pretty serious bite marks.
