I get myself killed playing chicken a decent amount. The worst part is when you know it's likely to end bad but push for that 20% chance of success because it sounds like a good idea at the time, then die to some scrub and nobody lets you live it down and then you're like gdi I should've just played it safe (until next time, when you do it again). :(
Every day. Other day I lost to some scrub alchemist knowing I should have disengaged during a rampage. Came back and smashed him with everything I had after that.
I was surprised he died honestly, then next fight I was hindered so bad not sure I got an attack in.

Yeah you did what you should have! Busted my ass when I didn’t take you seriously. Love that kind of stuff, makes me try harder.

Fought a Cyrenian yday and couldn't for the life of me get a Destroy on him because his curing was really great in spite of my trying to abuse prios... but then he just died to straight staffcasting. smh I can't even.

@Aegoth I was equally as shocked that that fight went for as long as it did. Felt more like I was a Target dummy than actually participating in the fight. Made a class change the other day, so one I get up to speed I'd like a rematch.

Maybe next time I'll impress you enough to get you to drop my name. Lol

Could use some combat logs from knights and/or people fighting knights. Also one from someone fighting against depthswalker.

One against Depthswalker. Not as knight though, unfortunately, since I hate playing knight.

Yeah, I love knight thematically, and the hunting is great, but I am having trouble enjoying the combat styles. I am thinking about what else I might enjoy, what hunts better between psion and dw? Oh, or for some classes a bit better at hunting, a weapon spec?

Not sure how to edit... how does magi do unartied as well?

Someone more knowledgeable might correct me but I think magi is one of the worst classes.  They're lacking in a lot of ways.  Think glass cannons.

    E: take Farrah's word on it :)
Deucalion says, "Torinn is quite nice."

Magi is the opposite of a glass cannon. It is a very tanky class. Its offense isn't super reliant on intelligence since pummel doesn't scale off intelligence. My only concern unartied would be a lack of aldar diadem. I've never really played around with it without that, though.

My guess would be that its standard pummel setups are fine without aldar but maybe worse against tumble/rebounding because of tighter windows, and that destroy is probably a lot worse (though destroy isn't super favored by most magi anyway).

Pummel is manageable unartied, though the windows to take advantage of salve balances are much more narrow. Don't expect to have a fun time bashing as magi though.

And don't even think about trying for Destroy unartied. It's already hellish to achieve with max arties

Unartied Magi is just fine, Farrah has it down you'll be able to use pummel/freeze routes just fine without an Aldar Diadem though the timing is a bit tighter so there is less room for error. Destroy is much harder to pull off without an Aldar diadem and requires that your opponent has the absolute worst salve prios to pull off, but thats fine since pummel is super strong.

You've also got access to retardation, the great equalizer, you don't need any sort of artefacts to use it but it is a very unique kind of combat that only a few people really enjoy.

You can either spec intelligence which will amp your damage, most relevant in group combat, and increase the effectiveness of your armour (diamondskin). Speccing for constitution will make you much tankier, you'll still be able to pummel just as effectively but you might find your staffcasts and stormhammers do less damage in group fights. Depends on what you're looking to do more of!

It is a more defensively orientated class, you'll need to learn how to survive long enough to prep people since several other classes will beat you in prep and its hinder (breaking arms) is generally slow to build up, I think that dissuades a lot of people just starting out but its a solid class and has a lot to contribute in raids and so forth.

I'm considering swapping to shaman in the near future, and was wondering if anyone has some recent shaman logs they could share. Thanks in advance!
