I want to propose that when you use MSG reply, a copy of the inital message is sent with the reply. I hate getting messages that just say 'Yes' when I have no memory of what I asked them.

This wouldn't really solve your problem, since everyone doesn't use message reply. Just review the previous messages in the conversation or, you know, save it somewhere if it's important and you think you'll forget.

Never knew there was such a command. smile.gif So I see no need for this!

Or how about an outbox for messages?

Hell no, given the amount of noise there/still is was about -inboxes- affecting lag...
Draekar
are msgs really still a big cause of Lag?

otherwise a fwd&reply command might be a good idea. or an outbox with a reasonable limit say last 100 msgs sent.

I think something around this idea has merit.

I guess my point was that if there was a benefit to using it, maybe it would be used more. Many people have discussions through messages that take place over long periods of time. I just want some assistance in remembering what it was about using a command that already exists but probably no one currently uses.

MESSAGE FORWARD # TO <person>; MSG <person> <message>?

It already exists, and it's already (as far as I can tell) unused and (in my opinion) useless. Just save what you asked someone, or ask them to reference your message when they're replying.

I would love a "sent" folder for messages. Even if it only stored the last 10. That couldn't be too much of a drain on resources.
zii
use more letters.

If you have a problem remembering the messages you sent, you could always keep track of them yourself. Most decent clients are able to auto-log everything, so you'll always have a record of your messages. Even in Nexus or some client without logging, you could just save all your sent messages to notepad. Or you could simply ask the person to elaborate on what exactly they're responding to, especially if it's been a day or two since you sent the message.

I have a horrible memory, and I would find this idea more annoying than useful.

Edit: A 'sent messages' folder could be nice, though. As long as it's limited to a small number of saved messages.

This has been denied so many times due to lag creation, I doubt they're suddenly going to change their minds.
Just cp it somewhere if you're having a long convo in messages, or remember what you asked people.
