I hear that flying mounts do not trample as well as the non-flying legendary mounts. But I am also curious if there is a difference in the trampling ability of non-flying mounts themselves and same with flying mounts. Also do some give more avoidance defense then others and if so how do you tell before buying? Thanks!
Sena
Trample and avoidance bonus both depend on the mount's level. The only way to find the level is to kill one, checking STAT STATS before and after.
Andregor
Is it safe to say the higher the price the higher the level?
Sena
I've never checked, so I'm not sure.
Trendor
Storm bull seems to be choice for trample. I've also seen blood steeds as well.

Dragon trample is awful for limb breaks. sad.gif
Dusty
I thought it was dependent on weight?

It used to be but I don't know anymore. Likely still is though. There was a big thing saying flying detracts from the trample ability but honestly I never see it when I trample. I usually hit all four limbs, three if I'm unlucky (80%+ 4limb trample if not 90%)

I should say that I roll dirty on a stone gargoyle that weighs 2625 lbs.
Sena
I've always heard the claim that it was based on weight, but I've never had trans riding or a legend steed so I've never tested it myself. I don't know of any official sources that link weight with trample. The ab file says (or used to say, at least) pretty clearly that it's based on the mount's level, though.

I have always been told it is based on weight, which would make the gargoyle the best for trampling, but never tested it.

Pretty sure blood steed or storm bull are the most consistent. I rarely get less than four on my eagle though.
rledaman
I normally get only one or two limbs on my pegasus, but its not a large part of my arsenal.

Anyone ever trample with a tiger?
Snareman_kindfire
I heard somewhere that it was dependant on weight AND mount level, max level being 10, but I also heard that the highest that exists right now is something like 4 or 5.

You're getting level mixed up with avoidance bonus. The highest possible avoidance bonus is the equivalent of 10 dexterity, but the highest you'll realistically find is the equivalent of 4 dexterity. The actual levels are much higher than that, able to reach at least 100, and probably a lot more.

So would most of you say get a flying mount for the ability to fly because trample is still good?

I have heard it said, and watched what could be considered proof, that flying mounts always lose to non-flying mounts in jousting as well.

Not that you are going to be jousting ALL the time, but....

Pretty sure I've beaten a storm bull on my gargoyle at jousting. Flying mounts have a disadvantage I think but they don't always lose.

I only saw about 20 bouts, so I wouldn't consider that conclusive. Good to know the flyers have a chance.
Andregor
I'm either going gargoyle or storm bull I think
