ok, so everyone knows if you get forest enemied you get the basic lolgank teams everytime you walk anywhere with foliage. The forest does laughable damage so unless your actually a forestal it's generally not a big deal. My question though, is regarding the trans concoctions sip bonus. Nowadays if you get oakstone enemied you can't harvest/basically use concoctions at all. Was wondering though, if you trans concoctions, would you still receive the sip bonus you'd normally receive?

Also, would the sip bonus really be worth transing the skill since it would have no other use?

If anyone has tested this (maybe temporary enemied back in the overharvesting days) i'd be grateful for the input.

kthx wink.gif

The only thing that is stripped is the ability to harvest iirc. The sip bonus still remains, as does the ability to make elixirs/salves. It's the same thing as a 12% sip ring, so yes, I'd say it's worth the 300 credits to trans concoctions for a 12% sip bonus/ability to make your own refills.
Drave
Hmm, I thought you weren't able to refill now.

Oh well, I guess getting forest enemied is even less of a punishment than I thought.. ohmy.gif
Cooper
That could be right. I haven't been enemied to the forest as a forestal class =P
Eurulis
Cooper's right. You can still make elixirs and salves, and get the concoctions bonus while forest enemied. Most people seem to think that the ability to not be able to harvest is a horrible, terrible thing that should never happen, but really, you can get around it pretty easily.
Bonko
Well, now that it's impossible to strip-harvest, Oakstone enemied forestals really shouldn't be prevented from harvesting. If they want to take the risk of being 'lolganked' while harvesting forest/jungle environments, then all the power to them!

I don't like the restriction on the harvesting thing either, and I'm fairly sure that I've described why numerous times and what else I'd rather have in place. But of corse, do remember that one may harvest outside of the forest! Meaning there's pretty much no risk unless you're looking for ginseng or something.
Bonko
Ah, you can? I was under the impression you couldn't harvest at all. That's really not that bad then.
Cooper
...really? I thought it just took away the 'harvest' command. Wow.

So the only thing forestals lose when they are forest enemied is the ability to pick the following plants:

The following plants are growing in this room:
A ginseng plant (ginseng) Sparse
A red elm tree (red elm) Sparse
A lobelia wildflower (lobelia) Sparse
A wild ginger plant (wild ginger) Sparse
A purple coneflower (echinacea) Sparse
A myrrh bush (myrrh bush) Sparse

That is..not bad at all. That is a very minor set back.
Eurulis
Oh, no, you misunderstand! It does take away the harvest command, I was just following Bonko's logic on if harvesting was not taken away on Oakstone enemyment. Sorry for the confusion!

When changes to Oakstone enemy status are brought up, retaining the ability to harvest is a common bone of contention along both gameplay and roleplay avenues. The stripping of more role-oriented, Nature-reliant abilities - certain Groves and Woodlore functions, generally - is considered as a viable alternative. It lasts about as long as discussions of the overall subject are considered productive.

Town centre of New Thera. (New Thera)
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky. Flattened cobblestones form a broad
circular plaza, alternating bands of blue and brown stone radiating outwards
from the centre in a broad spiral pattern. Spring Lane and Summer Street
intersect at this, the most bustling part of town, surrounded by newly built
shops and filled with the clamour of ongoing construction. Broad stone benches
alternate with freshly laid flowerbeds on the circumference of the plaza. Behind
the benches, newly planted white elm trees, barely more than saplings yet,
promise the sweetness of future shade. Bookending each bench, white oil globes
dangle from tall cast-iron poles, ready to provide soft illumination during the
deep of night. The aroma of baked bread and the perfume of azaleas and violets
drifting from the flowerbeds lend a heady complexity to the air. Some graffiti
has been scrawled here. It reads, "***NEW LOTTERY*** 275K sovereigns strong, And
growing ***LOTTERY 16***." A rune like a lightning bolt has been sketched into
the ground here. A rune like a rising sun has been sketched into the ground
here. Awash in a constant array of blossom petals, an amber-gold metal and
marble statue of Ariel, the former mayor of Thera, sits here. There are 2 burly
Theran guards here. A marble fountain sculpted into a lifelike blossom tree
within a basin sits at the centrepoint of the plaza. A swarm of bees hovers
menacingly nearby. A fiery efreeti spins madly here. Preening its metal-edged
feathers, an enormous Stymphalian bird glares about itself with beady, red eyes.
Taves, the Silent is here, shrouded. He wields an iron-tipped whip in his right
hand. Bonko, the Lord of the Carnival is riding on a Stymphalian bird. He wields
a haunting shield of mirror fragments in his left hand and a bloodstained
blackjack in his right. The Red Dragon Rangor's imposing form looms. You may
enter the wilderness map from here.
You see exits leading north, northeast, east, south, and west.

By the declaration of the Council of Oakstone, your ability to harvest has been
removed.

Edit: Oh, that was cleared up above. Whoopsie.

So the carnival is going Mhaldor-like then Bonko? Shattered mirrors, bloodstains and all.
