Okay, so back in the day I used to play this game a lot. I used Nexus since I frequently would log in from various computers other than my own, but when I played on my computer I had particular keybindings that I used. It's a laptop, and I would hit the NUM LOCK and use the 'keypad' as macros. I recently started logging in again every once in a while, and my keybindings don't work any more - when I turn the NUM LOCK on it just enters the numbers into Nexus instead of recognizing my macros. I've tried re-making the macros but it still doesn't work. This is making me sad. Anyone had a similar issue or have ideas how to fix it?

Only thing I can think of is turning off numlock and trying it, but that wouldn't work on a laptop I don't think. Numlock on should have made it read it as numbers, numlock OFF should have made it read it as bindable keys...at least as I understand it.

No, numlock on used to make the righthand half of the keyboard read as a keypad... it's got to be something to do with the new version of Java or something, I can't think why else it would change. sad.gif

Mighta been a glitch with the system itself that got fixed?

EDIT: Tried it out myself. I can set them as keybindings, just don't work. Then again, my Mac is buggered up when it comes to keybindings. No options that I could see to turn it on/off either...I'd guess it is bugged.

If you have a Dell, you generally have to hit the function key in conjunction with the proper key with the number in the background in order for number lock to work.

I have a mac, and it's the same machine I used to use when my macros worked.

Circumstantial evidence suggests he is talking about the Java Nexus. Considering how different the Flash client is (which is called FMud), I expect he'd have mentioned something about it.

This isn't really a solution, but you could put MUSHclient on a thumb drive and use that at any computer you want to log in at. (It helps if you can mount the thumb drive as C:\MYTHUMB or something on the computers you use, so you don't have to change a bunch of directories every time you switch...)

Also, what's with that signature? mellow.gif

Its a man, being hit in the face with a shovel, while poking his head through a hole.

It makes no sense.

Heh, circumstantial evidence such as my hypothesis that it might be related to the new version of Java?

Anyway, I'm not going to switch clients; I'm not planning on playing enough for it to be worth my while to write or even learn a new system. I'll just make do without my macros I guess. sad.gif
