Full Version: Consistent Character Traits

All of my characters are drastically different in design, but they all share certain Character traits. For example, all of my alts are classist/houseist (believe that you can only learn to be the best of your class in a House where that class originated). Would you consider this a roleplaying problem, or do you think that it's' trivial.

Also, do you have any character traits that are consistent between your main and alts?

Sometimes I use the same lingo. Or speak similarly in general. I think you know what I mean.

All are non comms due to me studying acropolis and trying to update some parts... and not being interested about fighting.
Gorlasintan
All of my characters are Mhaldorian Viceroys.

Every one of my characters, I try to take one aspect of me and interject it into them, then make it sort of a central theme. I'm a child at heart, I like to play kid games and act silly occasionally, so I took that and made it sort of a central theme for Boz starting out (hence the CIJ). Over time, he changed around a bit, and I let that happen. My alts differ greatly, mostly because being the same thing over and over gets boring, so I try to start with a new template every time. 1 character "theme", 1 character flaw and 1 thing the character is good about. I don't like playing the perfect guy, the guy who is always right, or any of that. If there's no flaw, no side that makes 'em realistic, it gets too fairytale-ish.

Well if she guesses from the Naga population, she has about a 50/50 chance of being right.

Sorry, couldn't help joining in. Mmm, I don't really have any alts, but those I did/do I tried to make very different from Soludra. I experimented with a 'proper' and less goofy character, but I could never get into the alt thing. (This is in stark contrast to World of Warcraft, where I was an alt maniac.)
Boz
I make alts occasionally...usually don't get to level 50 but the one I'm on at the moment I like. I need a break from Eleusis sometimes. Great people, but some of the stuff that Boz gets told to do makes me twitch.

Gorlasintan has a Naga alt. I peeped through his window (I know where he lives!) and can verify this.

On topic: This has always been a problem with me. Rather than continue the futility of alt creation, I eventually just stuck with Otha. I still have one alt who is pretty much the exact opposite of Otha, but they would be deleted if it wasn't for the fact that I had bought them minimal credits to keep them around.

Dude, you got a Dell!

Also, alts are fun!
Quoren
I think it's only natural, really. It's really taxing to play several completely 100% different characters. I can't even keep up with two, so one it is!

And Quoren's character started out as mine. Over time I Flanderized his general unwillingness to suffer stupidity, his zeal and love of "killing it with fire," and his scholarliness, though some of the above are not really things you'll see often unless you get to know him/get on his nerves.
Mystic Silhouette
All of my characters have every artefact known to exist.

One of them starts with O and ends with S. biggrin.gif

TethrynValis
I have only had 2 alts ( seperate characters next to my main) throughout my... Many... Characters. At first I joined Houses, and then as I started hanging around longer I decided to be a Rogue with most of my characters. My characters are always good and nice people, not always talkative though. I got lucky with my latest, and am mentored by one of Achaeas many Dragons! closedeyes.gif
