Full Version: Raja Or Hork

I have a Horkval Druid character with lvl 1 pendant and lvl 1 bracelets. He mostly harvests to buy more artefacts but still hunts in Azdun, Hridden, Bella's, Meropis. He has a little over 4k health and capable in combat.

I am tempted to reincarnate into Raja, mainly for the balance recovery. My thinking is that with the quicker balance there would be more attacks within the same time period, thus more critical hits. Granted, they wouldn't hit as hard.

I would probably invest in a belt or lvl 2 bracelets if I went raja, maybe followed by a Ranger's bow for meteors.

Any thoughts/(dis)encouragement?

Is it worth the switch?

Stay horkal. Furries are stupid and OPdefinitely worse than Horkval.

Raja and sip ring or stay horkval.

Sip ring over belt?

Sip ring over belt?

I would take extra sipping over extra health, because extra health increases the damage you take, sip and regen only increase your healing.

I am not artied, however.

SO, I just sparred a raja druid, crazy fast mauls did about 450 a piece with magi skins up.

I think reflexed raja mauls hit every 2.4 seconds, if I remember correctly.

What is your max health though?

2160

And I concur about the sip ring. if you want speed, go mhun or something.
Spire
Buy Endurance ring instead and stay horkval. Bash with reflexes up. Easy.

Reflexes burns your mana up though, that's the real killer. A level 2 mana regen artifact means you'd need one mana sip per 10 minutes or so I think, but without one, you'd be sipping relatively frequently.

Then again, if you're a horkval you're so tanky anyway, that sipping mana occasionally shouldn't kill you!

i don't know, I prefer troll and good chainmail for bashing as druid and it's good for PK too since you can tank almost anything except holocausts so you only have to worry about afflictions from artied serpents

Having been an artied druid with a gem, I'd have to agree with Mishgul. Trolls always made the best bashers as druid, and with hydra morph you'd do better in pvp too. Raja druids are incredibly squishy if you have less than 4k health, which you obviously will have if you only have just over 4k in Hork.
The Rangers bow is a good idea if you do decide to change, shoot 5 meteors, ambush, maul repeatedly. However, this won't work on most people, whilst a lot of damage, it is fairly easily tankable. I managed to kill a few people when I had a level 3 bow, level 3 knuckles, and level 2 gauntlets, but even then it most people would tank it, so don't expect anything special. I believe Miagorme did similar as Sentinel, but still had a level 3 bow, and possibly stuff to increase his maul. I also found I needed a level 2 mana regen ring if I wanted to keep reflexes up permanently, they drain a huge amount of mana.

In summary, go troll, or stick Hork. Raja's don't make that great druids, unless you pimp them out hugely, then they're by far the best.

Go Satyr, buy bracelet and use reflexed maul.

Raja has a herb balance penalty too, so don't bother with it unless you are confident in your affliction curing system.

If you wanted to try speed bashing, go Mhun. Extra movement helps quite a bit for running between places. No sip penalty/herb balance penalty means tankier combat against affliction AND damage.

nvm
Spire
Not heavily into combat, wouldn't go Rajamala. The mana cost is whatever, since you have Concoctions. The only real drain you see is Endurance, which is largely negated by Ring of Endurance and the new sleep regen.

If you're serious about bashing, there's no reason to leave Horkval for something less tanky. It sounds like all you want is more speed. A ring of endurance will afford you that without giving you the potential losses changing race would create.
Exelethril
If you want to bash, stay Horkval because forestals tend to have sucky armor. Horkval > Rajamala for bashing. In fact, I think Raja's are the worst bashing race out there because of the low constitution and sip penalty.

Thanks for the input!

A couple of you suggested Troll. The extra damage and ability to tank as a Troll is appealing. What would be the disadvantages of a troll over a horkval for bashing and combat? If I went troll I would spring for some 77/40+ chainmail.
