Full Version: Artefact Choice

I'm really good at telling other people what artefacts they should get, but I always get stumped when choosing what to get myself.

I'm level 100, omnitrans, scimitar effect via Shallam - no seafaring/tailoring/etc.

I have the follow arties: lvl 1 sash, lvl 1 collar, lvl 2 gauntlets (<--- all bought just a few days ago), eagle wings, gem of transmutation, circlet, diadem, 1 pipe, lvl 2 bracelet.

I don't have trouble dealing with damage unless it is artefacted damage. I am (probably) staying monk for some time, but a class change is not out of the question in the future. I have about 1250 credits to spend, with the ability to buy about another 200 with gold.

Out of the question: unnecessary arties like bracers of forst, wyvern's tail, anklet of dashing, etc.

Did an issue me to ask about knuckles not affecting hfp, and getting a clarification that they do or do not affect limb damage. Also did an issue me about the whatever things to upgrade to hit.

I'm looking to get bang for buck here!

Boost your trashy collar and crappy sash into a better collar and better sash?

Sip rings are nice too. The 20% one.
Gorlasintan
Two more pipes.
Cooper
I don't think I want a sip ring. I'd get a girdle (again, had one a long time ago but traded in) before that. Another pipe would be good for valerian, I don't really need it for skullcap.

Chocolate box.

Scorpion's Tail: 800 credits
- Wear it and then you may sting people with your tail, delivering the
Loki venom (which hits the person with a random venom).

Bracelet of Sustenance: 550 credits
- Wear this bracelet and you'll never need to sleep or eat again.
(this acts exactly as though you were level 80+. It does not
give immunity to hunger attacks).

Update us on their response?
Cooper
I deleted it because I just borrowed Cain's knuckles and tested myself - it does work on hfp, and does increase limb damage. He also said he tested armbands and they work as intended (to reduce dodging too) on all attacks.
Acarion
Buckawn's boots/amulet.
Spire
Take the Sash as high as you can. Tekura hurts enough, it's when they stand shield and go defense that you need to be your most lethal. Also, in raids there is simply no contest for kill volume as lv 100 monk with unbreakable mind lock and untankable crush/choke.

Basically, if you're looking for combat artifacts, you're looking at offensive, defensive, or something to give you added utility. You stated that you don't need defensive and you don't want utility, so you're looking for offensive. Upgrade your Sash and Collar to level 2 each, which will cost you 1150cr. As Spire said, you need finishing power when people shield and your raiding/defending power will be impressive. I don't have any meaningful suggestions for the remaining 100cr.

Knuckles will make you hurt so bad with your gem of transmutation. I used to have the gem and knuckles a long, long time ago. I can say that the knuckles are a great thing to obtain. You can permamangle easily, or could, as a Raja and slap people around with super-damage as a Troll. That being said they're also useful for Druid or Sentinel if you decide to change to a harvesting class later on too.

If you don't go for the knuckles then I'd say upgrade what you have.
Cooper
I went ahead and got lvl 1 knuckles and lvl 1 armbands, and I may upgrade the knuckles.

They hurt! smile.gif
Cooper
Heh, I gave all the artefacts to Bonko before our fight. They don't increase dragon damage anyway.
flair
It still hurt. Though I knew I couldn't beat you. Not because of anything other than you're just good.

But it was well done. I don't mind dying like that one bit.
