So I have been looking at my system options, and since getting a new job I have been able to have the means to get more credits.

Right now I have Vadi's and I like it. Granted I think some things can be fixed, but I think its more towards the fact of its popularity so its hard to fight top tier combat without someone breaking the system in some way.

The only major systems that I know of are Vadi, Dumah, and Haethreal (spelling?). I wanted to know the ups and downs of Dumahs and Haethreals system. I know of the topic for the later one, but its been awhile since someone posted something there.

Price is not an issue for the systems so thats not a up/down. I really want to know what people have problems with, or what works well that the other system has problems with.

I use zMud and I am decent with coding (meaning I can make triggers, aliases, variables) and know how to generally fix scripts when they are out of date. But as for making my own system, I am clueless, that and I am lazy to try.

Soooo that leaves the above three systems, or maybe another if someone is selling theirs. Right now I am an Infernal, so let me know what you use or what you know of, and thanks in advance for the info.

Vadi's is easier to use.

I prefer to use Dumah's because it's just as efficient but you can edit it to suit you. but I hate ZMud.

Hathrael's is usually very good for customising but again ZMud.

I want to buy Nitro's system off her or Poerghs. I love MUSHclient. I am making my own system but getting all the triggers is taking it's time.

I like zMud (only cause I am lazy and don't feel like re-learning another partial scripting language) so I am good there heh

I've thought of selling it, but it's too Nitro-specific. Someone else would die horribly with it.

Vadi is too popular, Dumah is straight forward and editable, but only if you want to track through mile long if statements, and Hathraels system is just new and fresh, from what I hear there are holes in it but since its so not mainstream no one knows about them yet.

I'll send you hathraels old system if you know how to code. It's pretty good, just few things that need tweaking.

I ment partial as in, I only know so much of zMud and have not learned the whole thing and I didn't feel like learning another full language, cause knowing me i would get laxy and only learn part of it

Nothing's wrong with it. Just how it works, and hathraels with LV is pro. I remember being an infernal and serpents were silly to me.

Yes it does.....I used it the entire time Trendor was runie. Just turn off lifevision and don't use the necromancy defs.

How can you say a system is easy to edit? How are said easy systems edited? I'm just asking for a gist of how these systems are written.

I can give you acropolis, and you can take a look at it's innards. Larkin wrote it, and after he stopped playing, made it free. I wouldn't say that it's easy to follow, but it's probably easier than following "Dumah's 15 mile long IF statements".

and also, there are ways to change the vadi-system around so it's not the same as others (priority-wise), and you can also use the vadi-system in conjunction with maybe a partial system custom-fit to your tastes. I mean, when there was an aeon problem, it really wasn't that hard to

Stick with vadis for the price.

Yes there are ways to break it. This is great, since it allows ways for players to kill each other.

Log combat, when you die go through it, figure out what happened, learn to manual out of situations where vadis flops.

If you have time, build your own system while using his.

I think you guys are slightly exaggerating the amount of #if statements I use. It's really not that bad. And it certainly works!

Is Vadi's Anti-illusion system useful to turn on against a Serpent while having the Serpent class on or having lifevision on?

^ Post makes no sense, but lifevision catches 75% of illusions, if you have Vadi w/ lifevision you can turn lifevision on and anti illusion off. The anti-illusion can be useful, but it can also mess you up in some ways (if your pipe isn't lit and it's waiting for smoke skullcap to check if the asthma is legit while you're off balance). 25% is an acceptable amount of illusions to suffer, in my opinion.

Because it's a pain in the ass to read, rather than anything performance-wise (though straight if-elses is a slower method of doing something like this, the speed difference isn't really that important in this situation).

Umm yeah it's hard to read if you just spam open and closed brackets :/ If you name your variables properly, finding what you need is really simple.

My system for me > any system from someone else for me. This translates to most people even if you pick up basic knowledge.

There are holes in my system and unfortunately I told Manifest so every single time he hits me with them, I haven't patched it yet but working on it, but you know the holes and you can patch them. If you're using a fast client, like MUSH, you can even come up with custom solutions based on the person you're fighting. People would have a brick in their feces if they saw my prompt scripting - zMud just wouldn't be able to handle it.

It's fairly out of date and had some bugs that last time I tried using it. It's acceptable, but not something I'd personally recommend.
