My wife and I (she also plays) are planning on organizing a meet soon for those who live close to us in Fayetteville, NC (Fayette-nam to those who know it well). There's literally a metric s***-ton of things to do around here, and anyone local or close enough is welcome to come. We're aiming for mid-October-ish, but feedback here would help determine that, as I'm sure (most) of you have lives that require scheduling a long time in advance.
There're a lot of hotels around here, though I do have a pretty large house that could sleep eighty or ninety fifth-graders crammed into every available piece of floor space, so if you've got questions about lodging, et cetera, feel free to ask them.

So ... I don't even live in the same state ... but your post sparked a couple questions in my head.
1: How much does a metric - ton weigh?
2: How do you know how many fifth graders fit on the floor of your house?
3: Do that many fifth graders weigh a metric - ton?
Edit - 4: Are they dead?
Lana

One metric ton = 2,204.62262 lb. Or one cubic metre of water.
So, logically, one metric - ton would be one cubic metre of -.
Or, for you stuck in the imperial days, roughly 27 cubic feet.

Are fifth graders and ****-tons common units of measurement in North Carolina?

2: I collect the ones I find at the taxodermist when I go there to get my dead pets stuffed.
3: No.
4: Yes. But very life-like. They bring me cheer.

What a coincidence. Calica is flying over here around the time too. So maybe it will be more people from different states. That would be neat. Make sure to bring drinking money too. *grin*

Geogrphy is the study of study of the earth's surface, without inclusion of the letter 'a' in anything specific that is being studied.

If anyone seriously is interested in coming to the meet, either message me here or call me with who and how many're coming, blah blah, and I'll find cheap lodging, or we've got a bed and a pull-out couch that'll sleep eight or nine, depending on size and comfort. There are -tons- of bars around, 'cause it's a military town, along with movie theaters, bowling alleys, restaurants, et cetera. More than enough to do. Oh, and the SpecOps and Airborne museums if you're into military history. Needless to say, there is really no limit to what we could all go out and do.
