Based on the number of MARKET channel adverts for the buying and selling of MCs, I'm wondering if there's enough interest in the implementation of a centralized MC market (CROWNS FOR SALE) modeled after the current in-game credit market.

Mayan Crowns are generally seasonal, and you can't get them all the time. I'd say the crowns traded aren't enough to implement a completely new Crown Market. The current system works as it is (i.e. advertising on the market channel to either buy or sell crowns).

make it so you can straight up trade credits for crowns?
TRANSFER 10 CROWN TO PERSON FOR X CREDITS/GOLD

Not enough crowns on the market to warrant it. No.

I like the addition of being able to transfer in exchange for credits (the help file says you can do so for gold already).

I like the Transfer idea.
I don't think a Crown Market is needed, though I'd use it if it existed.

The credits for crowns transfer would be nice. However, it's not that horrible to have to do two (gasp!) action to complete the trade. It's not as if people can scam you. They could, but that's risking getting banned.

-gasp- Two actions is one more than I'd like to have!

Well actually you would only have to do one, transferring the crown. As the other person is responsible for transferring you the credits (or vice versa).

They should have made the transfer work with credits in the first place and not gold. In all the crown transactions I've been a part of people want credits not gold.

That's because people aren't allowed to scam for credits, though they can scam for gold, making it the preferred choice of paranoid people everywhere.

I don't think there's need for a crowns market, but being able to trade crowns for credits rather than gold is a good idea!

No real need for any of this. Played the Crown Market for a bit and the system works fine. Credit thing might be neat, but once again is not needed.

Which I never really understood. You'd think scamming for gold, a totally IC currency, would fall under RP restrictions instead of something you can issue for. Just like theft, if someone gets scammed, it's really their fault for being gullible. There are plenty of in-character ways to deal with scammers, just like with theft. Simply restrict scamming to those level 30+ to ensure newbies don't get victimized.
Anyway, as for the original idea, I'm for the credit transfer, but at this point a separate market seems unnecessary.

There are ways around this; believe me.
Edit: And I agree, scamming for gold shouldn't be restricted. I'm sure, at some point, it wasn't. But after no doubt zounds of issues, the admin got tired of people pissing and moaning about how their stupidity shouldn't have been taken advantage of, and it was set in stone that no more intelligent being would con a lesser intelligent being out of their e-skrilla or face harsh punishments for making the admin listen to the ensuing waaambulance.
