So, I merrily opened up Zmud today to find that it had no recollection of any previous settings being in place. No variables, triggers, aliases... or anything! After reloading the maps, and putting in the logger, I decided to test to see if it remembered those after I logged out. Turns out, it didn't. I uninstalled Zmud, re-downloaded it and then re-installed. I loaded up the maps again, put in the logger and it remembered! Hallelujah!

. . . And now I've logged back in again, after leaving it for about an hour, it's forgotten about half of my settings again. I have certain ones, a couple of the first ones I put in, but otherwise I'm missing anything else.

Is there any reason it would be doing this, at all? If so, a way to fix it would also be very appreciated! unsure.gif

Have you done a virus scan?

Edit: Which OS?
Kaelyn
Running a virus scan as we speak, and I'm running on Vista. I'll be updating to Windows 7 pretty soon, for those who have a vendetta against Vista!

Look in the Games folder and see if it's not putting the files there for some reason. Vista could be just moving them instead of deleting them.

7 isn't much better.

That said, did you happen to install zMUD into Program Files, and did you log in on a different user and find them gone?
Trendor
I think 7 is a lot better than Vista. unsure.gif

I'm always on the same user, and they're installed in the Program Files.

The .mud file or containing folder set to read only, maybe?

they're installed in the Program Files.

Hmm. That may be your problem. Though Vista usually handles it somewhat ok, it actually stores the saved data for programs in the Program Files directory in your user directory and makes links to it so it looks like it's elsewhere.
