Does anyone know how groups are ordered in Nexus? When I create a new group, it can appear anywhere in the list. Is there a way to get an alphabetical order, or a chosen order?

I was thinking about exporting to xml (which I do for backups) and then regrouping manually, but would that work? Has anyone tried?

Thanks for suggestions!

nexus reflexes are grouped in alphabetical order, starting with variables, aliases, triggers then keybindings.

so aliases beginning with z will come before triggers starting with a, and variables beginning with a number will be at the top

not the asnwer he wanted.

as far as i know, 'GROUP's do I not seem to get organised in anyway. I will look into it.

I have no idea how it orders them and trying to manually change the order by editing an xml has no effect.

It will always put them back in whatever stupid order it puts them in.

It orders by type then alphabetically by alias match line, as far as I can tell.

Does that mean if I make a variable "aaa" in the group I want at the top... ? And variable "aab" in the second? Would it list those two groups at the top?
Soludra
As far as I know, group name is irrelevant. It just sorts by type then alias name, ignoring everything else.

You can -filter- by group name, but the actual sorting in the list doesn't care about it.

EDIT: Example:
CODE
<Alias>     bar   group n
<Alias>     baz   group o
<Alias>     foo   group t
<Trigger>   bar   group s
<Trigger>   baz   group o
<Trigger>   foo   group r
<Variable>  a     group t
<Variable>  b     group e
<Variable>  c     group d
