1) Would it be more or less effective for a sylvan to actually use illusions in combat?
2) How effective is Panacea? All I know is it randomly cures a random affliction.. Is it frequent enough to use?
All I have for now but im sure ill have more as I go along. And yes I did try to find out in character this information.. however it seems either a most sylvans do not combat or b dont much care to share.

You can use illusions to help stack salve afflictions if you are smart.
Panacea has a chance to cure an affliction every 20 seconds I believe. It is worth keeping up definitely.

Sometimes you can get really lucky with certain illusions and can essentially shut down someone's entire curing system for at least a few seconds.
Edit: This typically won't work against people who are actually good, but it will still work against a surprising number of people.

it works against Vadimuses that is why.

I've honestly found most afflictions to work more effectively on those who build their own systems, rather than Vadisys, Dumah's or Hathrael's. Like Mish said, your main goal with illusions would be to disrupt salve balance and go for heartseed.

If I were a sylvan, I would definitely use illusions. You just have to find the right ones.

Oh.. Another question after curing disfigurement/disloyalty do i need to order my ents passive before i can order them to attack target? or can i just order attack target?

I was told you have to order bees passive, then to attack. You can do it all in one alias though.

Aoe is okay. Kelandra is probably the best Sylvan fighter right now. Being a good Sylvan fighter isn't exactly prestigious though, and the abilities barely synergise very well. Sylvans are also not very versatile.

No fighters are Sylvans, so the people mentioned are good for being aspiring fighters.

As a Sylvan, group combat/support is really your niche. I agree with nearly everything Carmain had to say here, because while you can guarantee bbts/dsbs/vivi/etc, it is extremely difficult to pull off a heartseed against a good opponent.
On the plus side, you should be relatively tanky, though.

An unartied Sylvan versus an unartied
ard should give the Sylvan the advantage though because a Sylvan can continuously wipe out the Bard's harmonics and defenses (if they choose) and then overpower them with sheer damage. Heartseed isn't even necessary.

It should be a stalemate, if nothing else.
As a dwarf sylvan (one of the most painful sylvan races, unless you want to be a gimped magi), overpowering a bard of equal level/might is nearly impossible, because we do not hurt -that- much.

What bards are you basing this on? Bards have the same armour as monks (read: terrible) and only one non-harmonic defense ability (tune). With Efreeti, Weird, Bees, and Hailstorm in addition to your rends, you are dealing a lot of damage, and that will become apparent once the bard has no passive defenses to mitigate the damage.

I also learned that -if- lacerate does happen to hit a bard. it stops whatever voicecraft ability they were trying to set up -if- they dont mend head fast enough.
But yeah I also learned definilty have panacea up before combat starts against an occultist as well. getting hit with aeon as my pipe unlit was not fun..

Also, bards can put up harmonics almost as fast as I can destroy them, since dampening has a long eq. No one wants to do a harmonic/vibe race, it's no fun.

All current Sylvans are amatuer fighters at best.
The reason no real fighter goes Sylvan, is because they have no desirable skills to have for out of arena brawling and etc.
It's a fine class for 1v1, but that's about as far as it goes.

I was close to going Xoran Sylvan, but - due to their sip and cold weakness, added in that a ton of the dragons are blue - they just wouldn't be tanky enough for me to justify the extra point of strength and intelligence (because Sylvan dex is a joke.)
