Runewarden's kinda gotten old for me, and I'm looking to try out a new class. I'm thinking about going bard, even though it's likely to get the nerf-stick sometime soon. I'm trying to consider a class I'd like to change to until I reach Dragon. I am more interested in bashing potential than combat-worthiness, and I plan on going back to Runie once I reach dragon. Any ideas? Suggestions? Flaming? Discuss.


Troll:
Base statistics for this race:
Strength: 15 Dexterity: 10
Constitution: 15 Intelligence: 8
Advantages:

- regenerates health (x2)
- requires less food

- can leap over obstacles

- weak vs poison (x2)
- slow balance recovery
- cannot wear armour


Dwarf:
Base statistics for this race:
Strength: 13 Dexterity: 9
Constitution: 15 Intelligence: 12
Advantages:
- resistant to cutting damage
- resistant to blunt damage
- resistant to magical damage
- resistant to fire
- resistant to cold
- resistant to poison (x2)
- can see in low light
- faster recovery from drunkenness
Disadvantages:
- slow balance recovery
- heal slowly from elixirs


As a troll runie, I've got 5404 health, sip for 1000+, and run around with 16 strength with jera, 18 with fury. I use 120 damage, 200 speed scimitars for bashing. I have a hammer of forging (which I plan on keeping, even if I change), and honestly, I'm just tired of forging, runing, and combat outside of the arena costing me 30k+ in inks, upkeep on venoms, and always trying to forge better weapons to fight with.

Yep. I studied it. I'm tired of it. The depths of runie combat makes my head spin, and it costs too much for upkeep. Just looking for something new. I know Troll Runie is uber-damaging, and I hate it. When I win, I'm OP, and I hardly ever get to finish a setup or get a stylish kill because they die early.

Troll Bard is not great. You can heal well but you can't take damage very well. Spike damage will be painful for you.

Would you suggest going with horkie or dwarf? I like the idea of dwarf. Horkie's too common for me to really like it. I think that's why I don't like troll runie so much.

Both are crazy common in bards today. That's what got me into this troll runie mess I'm in.

I am uberdamaging, I am OP, they die early... Sounds like you need more challenging stuff?

If you don't like OP, don't go bard. The class is broken.

Ok. Let me clarify. Combat is a hobby for me. I jump in sometimes, but I dont make a lifestyle out of it. I'm mostly looking for a bashing combo that doesn't require a ton of upkeep, and I can dabble in combat without totally sucking.

The other options I was looking over are Occie, Apotato, Monk again (Though I don't like that I can't use all the skill I've got in Weaponry and Riding very well), and I am curious about all the changes to Druid, but I don't think I actually want to try it.

Troll bard will be fine for what you need it to do.

Yeah, I was going to say - troll bard should tank damage pretty darn well, save for against perhaps magi. Try to get an SoA.

Don't go Apostate if you want to bash. Decay is rather abysmal. It takes me like a minute and a half to kill a Mhun soldier. Apostate is great for XP, but you don't get XP from bashing, you get it from fighting and not losing anything to the Soulcage.

Occie is a bit better, because you can actually get away with being Raja/Tsol'aa in PvP, but warp still doesn't deal all that much damage.

Troll Bard would do everything you need it to.

After trying almost every race as a bard, I would say Horkval is definitely the tankiest by far which I suppose is common knowledge. Its hard to beat for grinding experience. Troll isnt bad but I would not recommend it for pvp. It's been so long since I have played I have really forgotten exactly what I didn't like about troll. I know you will take alot more damage than Horkval but you will still have alot more survivability than a faster race. Xoran isn't bad because although you are more squishy you have alot of health and mana and you are a bit faster. With the tankier classes you really are going for more straight damage vs affliction stacking which doesn't work the best with bard anyway.

Honestly troll runie is great for bashing.

If you are going to switch just to bash to dragon then switch back again, that's 500+ credits you could just put into yourself for something useful.

Are you tri trans?, are your trans avoidance? do you have a good legend steed. Or get a lvl one belt or a lvl one bracelet.

Get a level two pendant. Stick with Runie.
