I'm sort of opposed to snuggling, purring, and especially licking random strangers or even well-known strangers, so I can't really try to be unbiased about this. Yuck.

I was scrolling through this, and saw the purr emote, and thought to myself, "Wow, I'm surprised Das is going to put up with that kind of idiocy." In short, I enjoyed this story.

Fact: People who randomly perform purr/lick/pounce/etc. deserve what they get.

I -would- have ran from the devour, it's not like I didn't notice it, and if you look, you'll see I -did- try to web at the last second, but he had buckawn's and I didn't have any time to run after that. But I thought he was just kidding around, much like Rangor and Santar have both done to me. Testing me to see if I'm still on my guard, or just having fun, stopping it at the last second.


That's why I ranted on here. If I ran around doing snuggle emotes to any random stranger I came across, I'd probably die alot more than I do.

I think people are really starting to abuse the phrase "for the lulz".

If someone is purring at you like a simpering idiot (not saying that you're necessarily a simpering idiot, merely that you were acting like one), killing them isn't "for the lulz". Especially if that person has a history of not putting up with that kind of nonsense.

Also, agreed, he went straight for devour. The fact that it killed you is almost sad.

Edit: Ninja'd. Regardless of knowing people, purring at them out of nowhere should reasonably result in an attempt on your life. Unless you have a written confirmation reading "I like people purring at me" or are dealing with forestals, you should probably assume that this is a bad idea.

Whenever I start a cleave or something with no prep, its like.. "hey man, if you arent an idiot, we can both giggle if this fails, if you are an idiot you are dead" . Instakills of those sort really are not harmful without prep.

I almost enemied someone the other day for being a snuggleface at me. She was all annoying and crap getting all cuddly to a complete stranger (me) and then repeatedly trying to follow me because I mentioned (to someone else) that I had a private garden. I was like 'gtfo my personal space' and she was all like 'whyyyyy'. So I was like "Can I enemy her D:<" on city council and Vastar was like "You can enemy anyone for any reason".

Anyway, Das has always been pretty random in his behaviour. He's done/said some crazy stuff that make me go O_o IRL before so I'm not surprised about the devouring. Frankly if it were me I'd have done it too. The only people who are allowed to purr on me are the people I want to purr on. And that doesn't even cover 5% of the playerbase.

Ultimately, you initiated the interaction with Das. As far as his response, right or wrong or sense of proportion...those aren't really things that factor in all that much these days. I'm not saying that in order to avoid being randomly attacked you have to do and say absolutely nothing to anyone else and have no interaction whatsoever. It might help though.
