A miscellaneous artefact that summons rats or greatly increases the number and chance of rats appearing when ratting? I guess it would be like the Rondo ability in harmonics, though I'm not sure how effective it is.

For ~180 credits, you, too, can make 200 more gold an hour.

I had a feeling I had seen it before, but didn't see it in HELP MISCARTEFACTS sad.gif
Trevize
I'd like to see it made an artefact, if it's ever removed from the Shop of Wonders.
Vasool
With this and a Painter's Palette you would be unstoppable. ph34r.gif

Srsly if the artefact maybe put 25 rats in a room, then that would be something worth looking into. Erm... no not even then now that I think about it.

laugh.gif Didn't know that. I don't keep up with the wonders. It would be nice to see for 10-25 credits or some such. A sort of 'newbie artefact'.

That sounds good enough.

I think they were actually planning on giving some decaying versions of this away for worldgame prizes, but it never happened.

blink.gif Congratulations in the Great Hunt! You've killed the biggest, baddest creatures, and more of them than anyone else! Here, have this rat attractor. Now you can experience the opposite end of the spectrum!

Somehow, I don't see that going over well.

I was actually thinking more along the line of foozles and such...but I would have laugh.gif 'd if that would have happened.

I think making this a "newbie artefact" sort of thing would be awesome. Do it. biggrin.gif
Peirce
That would be really cool but then from an in-game perspective aren't artefacts suppose to be rare magic items? The kinda things newbies wouldn't have access to?
Imyrr
No, just really expensive items. There's a static shop that always has several of everything and people are running around with every conceivable one. Sort of ruins the mystique.

It's also a pet peeve. gah.gif

There are plenty of rare magic items in the game. Artefacts just aren't one of those.

I would love to see some sort of panpipe that summons something different then rats. Maybe a bunch butterflies that are ridiculously difficult to capture or something but still worth a bit of cash. I'd imagine some people would probably use it to 'Butterfly Bomb' popular and crowded areas but still....

...or maybe summon some random denizen. Forgive the crossover, but something like a Dead Branch from Ragnarok Online. Use it and you get something random from anywhere in the land. Obviously, not any of the sentient denizen like....Lord Z or Taug or something. More like rats, drakes, manticores, the odd sidhe...ect ect. Usable for a limited amount of times per month, or something.

What's the groundwatch bug? I missed it?
Saadya
It's so utterly basic I refuse to BUG it. One of the first things I tried when I read on announce they implemented it.
Shars
Hmm, first thing I tried was FLY-GLANCE GROUND ? second thing was FLY-GLANCE DOWN ? I did wonder if it worked from within trees, I haven't checked that yet...
Saadya
Groundwatch, not glancing. Anyway, back on topic!

In the trees above Serpentis Boulevard lined with old oaks.
A youthful Tasur fishing cat crouches nearby, ears perked. A ball of yarn sits
here, partially unravelled. Crair is here. He wields a Druidic quarterstaff in
both hands.
You see exits leading north (open door), northeast, south (open door), and west.

You realise that there is nothing downwards for you to glance at!

On topic, if the rat pipes are (re)created, please make them so that the rats don't follow the person with the pipes, and that the pipes don't work in a room with people. I forsee spammy troubles.
Lana
You grab hold of a nearby branch and swing nimbly up into the treetops.
In the trees above Beneath the Sycamore trees.
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky.
You see exits leading southeast and northwest.
GLANCE DOWN
You realise that there is nothing downwards for you to glance at!
GLANCE GROUND
Beneath the Sycamore trees.
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky.
You see exits leading southeast and northwest.

Sorry, but that's not the bug.

Instead of making this an artifact, how about making it a higher end enchantment?
Spire
Hm. If I were an administrator what reasons could I come up with to not create an artefact with the sole purpose of generating gold and reducing the need to purchase credits.

I can't think of anything.
Saadya
Similar idea. Silver fishing pole of Kastalia. Makes it possible to catch up to 10% big bait fish in rivers and lakes. 650 credits.
Shars
Golden Ticket artefact... improves your chances of winning a lottey by a kazillion. Someone suggest a credits price?
Saadya
Level 1 increases chance by 2% - 500 credits.
Level 2 increases chance by 5% - 1200 credits.
Level 3 increases chance by 8% - 2500 credits.

Again, it would be nice to "summon" more rats with an artefact. Also it would be nice if we will loot more gold when hunting with this artefact. And last it would be nice if we can use this artefact when fishing, 3x nibbles, etc... pwease!
Saadya
I predict a 'bug fix' instead. Rats were actually meant to yield 5 gold for baby rat, 10 for young, 15 for grown and 20 for old. Black rats weren't meant to exist at all.
