Full Version: Other Ship Types?
Achaea's Forums > Everything Achaea > North of Thera
Shars

From help 23.9:

"The current ship types are the Thalassian Sea Strider and the Windcutter, which represent what are likely to be the fastest of all ships you'll encounter on
the high seas. Other types will be forthcoming, both larger, either as traders or warships, and smaller, and at both higher and lower prices."

Has anyone heard anything about those new ship types? Any idea when they will be introduced?
dalavan
I had the idea that they were planning to introduce a new ship sometime in the near future, though I believe it was going to be a larger one still, likely priced at 10 million gold, or so I'm led to believe.
Rynn
Heavily modified rowboat please.

How about we finish seafaring and produce balance with the ships we already have before we worry about adding more ships that will cause even more need for balancing and coding which in turn will cause the issues that already need fixing even further delays. blink.gif
Trendor
Not to mention how it could possibly compound the existing issues with the addition of new ship types.

Won't work. Achaea doesn't make $$ for fixing bugs and balancing stuff out. Only for introducing new, expensive stuff that people will buy credits for OOC to sell IC for gold to get the ship with.
Silly Zulah. Don't you know anything about Achaea's Capitalism? Them making $$ = Priority One. You being happy = Priority Two. The game being balanced = Priority Three.

*waits for someone to point out that they need $ to keep the game free for everyone else. Yawn...*

You realize they will make less money with an unbalanced game and unhappy people? tongue.gif While some changes necessitate making people unhappy, overall I'd say they're doing a good job of making customers happy considering almost everyone reading this is still playing. wink.gif

rofl. And yours was just nothing but contribution. At least mine did have to do with ships. Somewhat. Yours was just. You being bitter if I'm not mistaken?
Oh, to and Trevize- unhappy people doesn't matter. The admins could drop everyone to level 1. Sure, the people who have never bought credits will be like 'I quit never playing again nope' but the people that have invested quite a bit of $$ would continue playing, because I mean, they invested $$ into it. So with ships, though they're unbalanced, hey, only people that have them have paid for the flippin' ship. If you don't like it, sell it. But who would do that unless it were a last resort? (tongue.gif) Hence, why them making $$ is priority one. Sillyhead. biggrin.gif

Yes, and I have a habit of just noticing an avatar out of the corner of my eye and assuming it is from the person associated with said Avatar. So I started reading these posts thinking it was going to be Dyzanru, and atleast funny if not intelligent. Damn, did I get burned, eh
Tribal nonCorten
Changed. ^-^

Your sig is too big.

Bump.

I'm just wondering if there has been any news of new ships. WC and SS are fine for now I guess, but larger ships would be cool too.

Considering it took 11 years for ships to be implemented, I doubt it's going to happen.

Considering it took 11 years for ships to be implemented, I doubt it's going to happen.

After the initial implementation of ships, it took a near-continuous development cycle of a few months to go through most of the "to-do for ships" list. This includes but is not limited to: deep-sea diving, ship combat, sea monsters, and the Seafaring skill. At a cursory glance, I would say that 80% of what was promised after Ships 1.0 (and a plethora of new things suggested by players) made it to current implementation during that time frame.

As for the rest of you, why are you responding to Tribal?
