Ok, since I'm going to get 3 paychecks this month instead of the standard 2 I've thought bout purchasing a artifact for my shaman now which would be more benefictial I plan on having both some day but which should I get first the Shield or the Palette? I run through inks insanely fast but I know the SoA can help me live longer. Which one should I consider getting first the shield or the palette?
Kallorn
SoA

Without a doubt.

Let me put it this way, Palette=one of the worst artifacts. while SoA=one of the best artifacts.

I think someone did the calculations, and it would take about 3 rl years for the painter's palette to pay for itself.
Horuce
Ouch, well that settles that, Thanks Kazu smile.gif

10 credit prize to anyone who can help me customize the SoA. Anyone up for the game? (by the way where does that request even go anymore not that the bazaar is gone?...roleplay section??)
salaz
Instead of making a new post.. Salaz's a shaman too. Similar circumstances as Horuce here. SoA or Trans weaponry?

SoA

Without a doubt.

salaz
was really looking forward to beheading a few people
Sena
SoA > Weaponry, in effectiveness at least. Before imbibe, I might have suggested weaponry for venoms, but now it's not as important.

It generally helps if you survive long enough to be able to do that.
salaz
running around helps. And as you know, i still keep my offense. I can understand why SoA is rather valuable, but is it unequivocally better than weaponry for a shaman?
Trendor
I'd say yes
Sena
If you think you'd have fun using weaponry, you can get it even if it's not the best choice.
Kallorn
Shamans get a nice enough insta-kill in Curses. I was always told to learn how to best use my class skills before putting lessons into a skill like weaponry.

SoA is not only useful for combat against other players, but it'll also prove really useful while you're bashing, too.

This. I mean isn't ripping off a shrunken head so much cooler than simply beheading someone?

I'll give you 200 gold for any ripped off head you want to sell me. I will use them as projectiles..Oh and if someone could tell me how to get those mangled body parts without using oblit..you would be my hero for all of eternity.

Ouch ouch ouch...thank gods I saw this thread.

I was actually considering saving up monies to get a Painter's Pallette. unsure.gif
Saadya
But how will you paint without a pallette? sad.gif
Sena
Assuming the painter's palette has an equal chance of choosing each ink, it would take about 350 days for the inks produced to equal the credit value, at 3k per credit. At 5k per credit, it would be 575 days. That also assumes that you get every single ink, which requires that you log in at least every 6 hours. More realistically, it would take about 450-500 days at 3k per credit, and 750-800 days at 5k per credit.

why are you spending money on a game you so clearly hate?

I am assuming by this time you have already chosen your Shield of Absorption. There simply is no comparison for the two artifacts.

First: higher armour rating with access to Gebu/Gebo which should consistently keep your Shield at 27/27.

Plus: 15% chance to completely absorb a physical attack.

vs

Ratting: 7 baby, 14 young, 21 rat, 28 old, 35 black. If you ratted for gold and changed it in for inks your ink acquisition would be much more rapid than waiting for the Painter's Pallet to pop more inks. Not to mention you'd get exactly what you wanted.

Plus, no secondary effects.

There is no contest.

i dont mean to be a jerk, or completely ... well ya nevermind. what the **** kinda question is this?
