Full Version: Pictures Of Eleusis

After the Announcement post of the city, artesinals I felt like drawing the gatehouse to Eleusis. The medium I used was a sixty four count box of Crayola Crayons®, and the remaining piece after burning an incense stick. Here are some pictures I drew of things pertaining to Eleusis. Since you cannot tell that they are distinctly Achaean along with the fact that they wouldn't hold a candle to the other artesianals I'm not submitting them. I just needed a place to
put them. I have no perception of shading.

To explain this picture, I started off drawing trees. I had no pencil, so to 'erase' things I drew over them. Both pictures took me about two hours to draw, bear with me that I haven't drawn a picture by hand in over half a year and I wouldn't have considered my self very good. The circular green thing is Naifos' head with an effort to make a purple and blue minds eye tattoo.
I soon realized that you can't color over black, which is why there is only one pair of 'mushroom lights' and in the end, it looks nothing like what I think Eleusis would look like. Also, that tombstone like object is an unwritten cairn stone. I intended to have eveything else, the Dryad Enchantresses, the Tsol'aa Archers, the treekin warriors, the Druid's Oak, and the rest. But Like I said. It sound dumb, but I thought it would be easier to draw over black

This is a picture of The Guardian of the Thorns, though it's more masculine than I had hoped. The unwritten cairn stone is there as well as what I thought the spear of the watcher would look like.

I like it because it looks very expressionist, but that certainly won't make anyone here admire it more.

Did you try smudging the colour to make the surface more homogenous and maybe to create shading and depth?
Aoe
What Saadya says, smudging would definitely help with the shading issue.

Well, I realized that crayons aren't the easiest things to blend or shade with. I tried my hand at pencil. I think my scanner over-lit though, so it's a little bright.

It's Elias the gatekeeper. It's a shot at shading. I added a monolith sigil and totem for kicks as well.
