I'm thinking about buying a Ranger's bow and am looking for some info on it before I dump the credits.
I have been told by some (Rangor, Praz, Spire) that getting a bow is a rockin' idea for a Druid, just for the damage stacking it can add. I know the damage varies with poison resistance and max health, but does anyone have any info on the damage from meteors and adjacent shots? I'm Horkval so I have the slow balance, but here is what I am looking for:
1) Adjacent room damage and balance time (with/without reflexes on)
2) Meteor damage and balance time. (I know it has 10 seconds of freefall... how many could i get in the air in ten seconds with/without reflexes on)
3) Without sniping or aiming, what kind of to-hit would I be getting out of it? Would I be missing 1 out of 4 or something nasty like that?
4) Would you recommend it?

I've had the level 1 for ages and it works just fine. I've been told unless you are going serpent you really don't need anything higher than that.

List what other artefacts you have. Also what you intent to do in gamemost, 1vs1, group combat, raiding/defending, mark etc. If you go for raiding a bow is very useful and worth every credit. If only 1 on 1 then there are number of other artefacts you should buy prior to bow. 1 on 1 it is quite useful as well, that will let you kill a lot tankier combatants that otherwise you would stand no chance to outdamage. However anyone past capable in combat won't let you setup meteors unless they are sure they will kill you first or stop otherwise.
I don't know exactly damage formulas. With 4K health and trans antidotes, venom sipped and no other venom defence. I was getting around 700 damage with ordinary darkbow (600 with algiz) with level 3 bow numbers were more like 900 and 800 with algiz. However without aim and shoot/snipe you will be hitting 2 out of 5.
Meteors were hitting me for around 500-600 damage with thermology + frost. with Algiz and blessings it were knocked down to 400-ish.

the cheapest (rangers) bow is one of the best value artifacts, for non-bow classes.
It is second only to pipes and SoA(for shield classes)
do it
accuracy is pretty crap - maybe 60-70% The main thing you want it for (1v1) is meteors, and for raiding (meteors and normal shooting).
Druids lose a lot when the opponenet shields, so the ability to use meteors is a huge buff.
