That's awesome.

I'll say that's quality work, but I don't know about it placing as is. The only black and white pieces I see win in the artisianals are fairly extensive in their detail and backgrounds. While certainly an impressive sketch, it is mostly just a sketch, and I think it would have taken a bit more time and effort to receive recognition.

I can only hope I'm wrong!

He did get a merit in the last artisanals, at least. That was also a simple black and white sketch similar to this one.
