So, I've got a Jester character, and he seems to have gotten a little bit of an obsession going over Mhaldor. Not that he wants to join it, ooh no, he wants to prank the city with non-lethal Pranks until they either learn to laugh, or hunt him down with many pitchforks. At the moment, he's verging towards an Epic Prank that affects the entire city with lots of bananas, city-wide itching, and the like.

I was wondering if the Mhaldorians would take a dim view of this. They seem to be a dour, glum lot, in-character wise, so would they tear my poor little Jester limb from limb for carrying out a prank on this scale?

Also, apart from the obvious outrage, and possibly Mhaldor-employed assassins running after my boy, would there be any other in-game backlash from the joke?

I do realise that this is going to take a lot of planning on my part, and possibly more than one Giraffe, to pull off. It's currently a long-term goal for my character.

You will be eaten alive, people got enemied for butterfly bombing Mhaldor (dropped a TON of butterflies in the city). Not that I would know anything about that..

1. Mhaldor would kill you, if you know enough about it already, you'd know that. They will also kill you a lot.
2. This idea is kind of stupid and in all honesty, most people outside Mhaldor that hear about it will also think you're an idiot.

It's great to want to do "big" things, like change the view of an entire city, even while knowing it's impossible. It is not great to do stupid pranks that will only result in annoying everyone else.

Annoying Jester creating lots of PK cause for Mhaldorians by graffitying things across the City and making any movement in the City dificult with a Levitation vial (that stop peels?)

You'd be killed, lots and forgotten within a week.

Well, I never said a thing about being in the CIJ, and I'm not sure I like you inferring that all Jesters have to join them. Also, I'm already aware it's a stupid idea, likely to cause annoyance and multiple deaths (of my character). The problem is to in-characterly persuade my Jester to take a different route to pranking.

Not that a first-level character is going to be up to much at the moment, so there's still a lot of time for this.

Personally, I think that assuming that I'm an alt, rather than a complete newcomer to the forums, and the game in general, shows a jaded and world-weary view. Yes, I could be an alt, but do you really think an experienced character would be bringing up something like this and making it public?

I'm simply after general hints on what the consequences will be.

Saw this just as I posted. The IC reason is that Jester Boy heard a Mhaldorian 'joke', and immediately decided that they needed to laugh a little more. That's it. He'll be Gung Ho for this prank, until something else distracts him. At least, I hope something else distracts him.

This 'ideology' exists solely because of the former Jester guild which is now the CIJ. It doesn't matter if you're a member or not; the introduction of this idiocy is directly because of the Jester guild/CIJ, and therefore, the blame falls on them.

PS. If you want to RP a Jester (which I advise against), do something involving comedy/humor, not being an incessantly annoying pest that anyone with more than 5 neurons in their brain wants to completely and utterly obliterate.

Being a jester doesn't mean you have to be stupid, and it's that sort of comment and idea that get's the whole class a bad name. Jester's are funny, they are entertaining, that you consider the only way to be these things is to be stupid and idiotic is just sad.

I'm not going to respond to that by listing off how many times something similar has happened, anyone that has been around in the game enough knows that littering an area with banana peels and running around making people itch is not funny or original. It's simply taking a combat ability and trying to make it funny by using it on people that will take it as nothing more than an annoyance at best.

If you want to do something "big", be original. Do not use two class abilities to annoy everyone else. If anyone feels that passionately about their cause, they should be able to do what they wish to do creatively. As Gorlasintan said, use humor. This is not humor, this is stupid.
