The Tale of the REAL Hero of Cyrene

Boz Ziggins the Halfling was born in the Valley of the halflings, Actar, not long after Cyrene was founded. He was
short, even for halfling, and had bright blue eyes. Both his father and mother were very well known through out Actar as very
elite Jesters. Sadly, when Boz was only fourteen Mr.Ziggins perished due to a suicide mouse that went crazy. Mrs. Ziggins,
not having enough gold now to support her and her son since her husband's death, sent Boz to live with her brother, Yungall,
in an old cottage east of the Vashnar Mountains
Yungall was a mysterious sylvan and was rather old and had dark gray eyes. He paid little to no notice to his nephew
and Boz often had to go out and buy his own meals while his uncle was off on what he called "business", which sometimes
lasted for days. Once when Boz questioned his Uncle about his uncle's "business" Yungall became furious and beat him
profusely. Boz never brought up the subject again.
When Boz became eighteen he moved out of his uncle's cottage and bought his own cozy home in Actar. He
made a living as a tattoo artist and became quite well known throughout the Vashnar Mountains. He learned the ways of a sentinel and studied woodlore and metamorphosis from his good friend Tyrandiel. Unfortunately, all this came to an abrupt halt when one day he received the dreadful news that his beloved mother had been killed by a savage blue dragon that had gone on a rampage and slaughtered everyone and everything in it's path. Enraged, he left his home and friends in search of the fearsome dragon that had killed his mother.
Boz searched for the dragon in the form of a wildcat so he could detect the slightest sound or movement nearby. Weeks
passed without hearing or seeing anything except for the occasional deer. Suddenly one day while Boz was searching a ways to
the west of Actar he heard a sound that sounded like footsteps. He slowly crept to where the footsteps seemed to be
coming from. He gasped. There, walking up the mountain, was Yungall. He looked like he hadn't slept or bathed in days and he
looked extremely worried. Something didn't feel right. Boz quickly morphed into a squirrel and began to follow his uncle.
Boz followed Yungall for a little over a hour. Finally they reached a cave near the top of the mountain. The cave was
so massive it could hold most of Actar's population in it. Near the front of the cave was a huge column of rock which
appeared to be holding the cave ceiling up. In the middle of the cave chewing on a grook bone was the blue dragon. It was a
hundred times bigger than Boz in every way. Its long, sharp claws could rip the strongest armors into shreds and its pure
black eyes would even make Sartan himself shudder. The dragon looked up from his meal as Yungall entered.
"Ye is late", growled the dragon. Yungall gulped.
"W-w-ell it is a long ways ov-ver here, Lord Ainghaeal", stammered Yungall. Ainghaeal snarled showing his
bloodstained teeth.
"Stop with these excuses ye stuttering fool! Have I not already shown ye great mercy? Did I not spare your life
when I first meet ye wandering alone in the forest? I could have easily eaten thee right then and there! Instead I made ye
my servant! Ye should be grateful!", Ainghaeal seemed to relax a little "Have ye any news on Cyrene?"
"Y-yes sir. Sarapis has sent an earthquake, collapsing all the tunnels surrounding Cyrene. N-no one can enter or
leave the city"
"Good good. Now I can finally put an end to them damn trespassers! How dare they come barging in to my mountains
without my consent! Now they will pay!" Cyrene? City? In the Vashnar Mountains? Boz could hardly believe what he was hearing.
He had always heard rumors of a rich and artistic city within the Vashnar Mountains but people had always thought they were just the tales of a drunk man. If what they were saying was true, Boz had to stop Ainghaeal!
Boz, still in the form of a squirrel, whispered to the forests and morphed back to a halfling again. Ainghaeal
noticed Boz and let out a loud roar of anger. Ainghaeal tried to gut Boz with his claws, but Boz dodged it just in time. Then
Yungall ran up to Boz and tried to tackle him from behind. Boz saw him coming and gave a short whistle. At his master's
command, a gray wolf leaped into the cave and bit Yungall in the neck with its sharp teeth. Yungall shrieked and fell, lifeless. With another roar, Ainghaeal hit the wolf with a sweep of his tail sending the wolf into the rock wall. The wolf fell into a pitiful slump.
Ainghaeal chuckled and turned to Boz "Ye is foolish. Thee really thought a wolf and some clever metamorphosis could
stop me? Now thee must pay for your silly acti-" Ainghaeal never got the chance to finish his sentence. With a loud gasp, the great dragon collapsed, a steel longsword protruding from the side of his neck. Already blood was pouring from the wound. Standing proud beside the slain dragon were five Xoran paladins, each one with a satisfied look on their handsome faces.
"That wasn't so hard!" exclaimed one of the warriors.
"Well, we would have never had found Ainghaeal if this brave little chap here didn't start such a loud commotion",
said another paladin, smiling at Boz.
"Thats fer sure!" agreed the others.
"Say lads, how bout we go get us some beer in celebration eh?", said the first warrior. The others nodded in agreement. "You can come along too lad", he said to Boz.
"I think I'll pass, thanks", replied Boz. He was exhausted from the battle and from being morphed so long. All he wanted to do was go home and take a nap. The warriors just shrugged.
"Farewell then. Thanks again", and with that the warriors left as quickly as they had come. Now Boz was all alone with his dead uncle, the dead wolf and the dead dragon. Boz sighed and picked up Yungall's body. Boz figured he should go and immolate the body in The Flame, he was his uncle after all. Boz started to leave the cave. Suddenly he heard a noise behind him. He turned around and to his horror there was Ainghaeal trying to stand up! Ainghaeal had lived! Boz yelled for the warriors to come back, but they were to far away to hear him. Ainghaeal was already to his feet and was now trying to walk. Boz tried to think of what to do. Then he got an idea. Boz set down his uncle's body and whispered to the forest to make his fists as tough as bark. Ainghaeal was walking now towards Boz with pure hate reflecting in his dark black eyes. Boz prayed to the gods to give him all the strength they could. Ainghaeal was almost upon him now. With a yell Boz slammed his fists into the rock column as hard as he could. The column split in two and the roof of the cave collapsed. Ainghaeal gave one last roar before he was crushed by the falling rocks.
Cyrene was eventually found by the outside world and as the years went on they forgot all about Boz and the warriors got all the credit for the slain dragon. Only some of Boz's loyal friends know the truth. But even they don't know what became of him. Some say he survived and lives in the forest today. Others say he was killed by the falling rocks but the Gods took pity on him and made him an immortal spirit. There is one thing they all agree on though. Boz Ziggins was the real hero.

Only thing that caught my eye was the use of beer(no, I didn't read it. Just literally skimmed). I know there's probably beer used somewhere in Achaea, but ale just feels more Achaean to me. Just my 2 cents.

Ale is a sort of beer, and Vertani sell beer. I prefer beer to quasi-archaic 'ale'.
