Just some things I doodled while RPing in Achaea over the last two weeks-
Warning...not perfection. Really just doodles...mostly me trying to figure out Selerin's new appearance.

Skribble #1

I'm not really ignorant or anything...I just know that I could do so much better and those were pretty much thrown together while bashing or something so there wasn't alot of effort put into them.
Dusty
I like the first and second, though I like the first one more strictly because it's more refined and clean. However, the shoulder area is wayyyy messed up. Then again, just doodles, no? smile.gif

edit: readd the img tags!

It was originally just a floating head until I slapped color all over and smooshed it around.

'Shoulders? What shoulders? Oh, the purple splot?' laugh.gif

Well, the apparent bulge of a shoulder blade, to be specific smile.gif It doesn't follow the anatomy at all.

I thinks they're seksay. Though the katia one is questionable

Hipsana
Celery! Doodle Hips for me? *snicker*

Desc
She is a beautiful Siren and is quite diminuitive, just approaching five feet in height. Her hair, a brilliant fiery red, is haphazardly braided with a few dreadlocks here and there. She is hairless from neck to toe and her skin is a
soft milky white tone. Her breasts are small and perky, appropriate for her size. Her eyes are a startling emerald green with long gentle lashes fluttering with each blink. Her nose is dusted lightly with freckles, giving her a hint of youth and innocence. She is wearing an Aerinewild rose earring through her right ear, a simple silver nipplering through her left nipple, a simple silver nipplering through her right nipple, a patroller's amulet, a wyrmskin pack, a pair of Darkenwood oak sandals, and a straw sun hat.

Sun Hat
Tghtly plaited straw criss-crosses in neat lines making up the brim and crown
of the sun hat. The straw is a rich golden colour and smells faintly of sulphur
from the bleaching process. A ruby-red ribbon hugs the crown and is tied at the
back, the two loose strands long enough to fall upon the wearer's shoulders.
Extending four inches from the crown, the brim shades the wearer's face from the
light of the sun, providing relief for sensitive eyes.

Sandals
This pair of sandals is crafted from the wood of a Darkenwood oak. They are
black and resilient and etched into the sides a ring of oak leaves creates dark
grooves.

Earring
All the colours of sunset have been captured in the facets of a solitary
ruby, delicately set within graceful branches of silver. The gleaming
branches stem from the base of the earring's simple post, adorned with
intricately etched leaves and wicked silver thorns. The clutch is a
woven design of tangled filigree that grasps the post firmly, holding
the earring in place. The fiery gemstone is hand-carved in the likeness
of a perfectly formed Aerinewild rose. Although not extravagant in size,
the ruby solitaire radiates a reddish-orange light, casting a soft glow
on the wearer's neck and cheek. This vibrant rose earring is so
carefully crafted and detailed, it appears as if a true Aerinewild rose
has been plucked and frozen in time, to be worn for all eternity.

If I can get the time. I generally doodle whoever is nearest me when I've got the chance. I don't really do freebie commission work much unless the mood strikes me.

Besides that, I feel super guilty about taking on requests when I have a pile of pixel art commissions grumping at me..I should really work on those. unsure.gif
Hipsana
I don't care if it happens right this second. Jus that I get it at some point.
Selerin
Mkay, but don't hold me to it getting done in a while.
Ravien
I want one too sad.gif Those are excellent
Selerin
Knowing me, I'll end up making this big project of a Ladies of Achaea pinup calender. xD

When I get the time, that is.
Hipsana
Dibs on the month of Eros!
Selerin
If I did a calendar, it'd be by birth months with a birth stone/season theme to it.

Makes sense like that.
Ravien
Phaestian plz wub.gif

Seriously though, I wish I could draw like that.
Hipsana
You are 185 years old, having been born on the 9th of Ero, 322 years after the
fall of the Seleucarian Empire.

That's actually why I first was interested in Eros and any mythology surrounding him. There is very very little however. sad.gif
Selerin
Works for me biggrin.gif
Hipsana
I suppose you're going to want to put clothes on her... I'd rather a less revealing position though, tasteful nude as it were, hat is a must.

So, how you going to pick all twelve?
katia
Oh lord... what a horrid image

This is too true, I know too many people wo are -great- at some things, but shrug it off and bitch about how "it could be better" all the time.

It makes me kinda mad actually.

Once you shower a few times, have a sleep (if you can) and drink some alcohol.. lots of it even, you forget you ever read it.
Selerin
It's too early to set down actual ideas of what I'd want but these are standards that I'm absolutely going to follow-

1. No two people from the same month. Birth months only, please.
2. I don't want super similar-looking people. I love diversity! Remember, I'm the one that's going to be drawing them!
3. No complaining if I don't pick your character. Seriously. You could be my best friend ever and I may not choose you. I pick according to what appeals to me. If I force a picture, I get grumpy and tend to find myself in an art block.
katia
can always add me.. from the month of chiefy of course

(@pictures) At first I was like, oh my god, it's so loud and colorful and happy looking!... then I thought about it and realised it's so -you-. Great job! Also I must congratulate you on attracting me to a style that I usually find too obnoxious when I've seen other artists attempt it. Gorgeous!

Not that I am asking you to bother, but I honestly wonder how you'd capture a more quiet and introverted character like my own. Also, do you have a Deviant Art?
Hipsana
What month you born in?
Reina Legacy
Oh wow So Pretty. I'd love one done of Reina. I'll send you the description if needed and the Month is Lupus.
Rianara
You are an amazing artist Celery! What do you use to color? Digitally I assume?

Also, I'd love Rianara to be in the Achaean ladies pinup calendar, born in Aeguary. I'm not sure if my character is well known enough anymore but hey, figured I'd put my bid in happy.gif
Reina Legacy
For some reason I can't edit and I totally misspelled the month in my sleepyness. The Month is Lupar

Here is Reina Legacy's Look:

She is a winged Atavian and is incredibly stunning. She is petite around 100
pounds, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, and curvy. Her skin is soft, although it
looks rough and tanned from her days in the sun. She has dimples in her cheeks
that stand out when she smiles her sweet innocent smile of full, pouty lips. Her
deep, dark eyelashes cast a shadow of mystery to her almond shaped eyes, deep
soulful brown eyes twinkle with a hint of red and blues. Her long deep red hair
sways down to her waist as she moves. Finally her wings are deep, dark blue with
silver and gold flakes that catch the sun, the very tips of her wings glisten in
pink and black hues of color. She is wearing a canvas backpack, a silver
Empyrean ring, a ring of pestilence, flowing atavian priestess robes of snow
white, a woollen-blend dark tartan cloak, and thigh-high black snakeskin boots.

My Robes:
These beautiful robes made of white silk have been tailored to fit
perfectly to a female atavian form. Long sweeping sleeves billow in the
breeze. Fine embroidered silk of snow white detailed with ebony thread,
form the design of a tiger's claw extended across the back of these
robes. Along the front of the robes are several buttons of carved
obsidian used to hold the fabric together when worn.

My Boots:
These glossy black snakeskin boots sport stiletto heels and reach to the
thigh. Fitting snugly to the wearer's shapely legs, they gleam with
reflected light whenever the wearer moves. Hundreds of tiny, shining
obsidian buttons run from the ankle, up the back of the boots, to the
very top leading the eye ever upwards to the wearer's trim and shapely
thighs.
Ravien
Just in case Phaestian has my name on it tongue.gif

She is a beautiful Siren and is tall and curvaceous, capturing the poise and gracefulness that her race often depicts. Her skin is smooth and creamy with a healthy glow about it, however, her neck is scarred on the left side. Her eyes are a pale apple green, wizened with age and framed with long lashes and shapely eyebrows. The soft ebony hued hair of this siren is long and let loose in shimmering curls, save for the front bangs pulled back off of her forhead and twisted, secured by a pin. She is wearing a shady green backpack, Gloves of
Harvesting, 2 delicate coral bracelets, a bronze medallion of the sentinels, a glittering silver bracelet, a suit of steel chain mail, a sleeveless blouse of black leather, an electrum medallion engraved with a silver wing, tight-fitting black leather trousers, a hooded cloak of crushed black velvet, soft black leather boots, and a small, tanned leather pouch.

Boots:
Made of butter-soft black leather, these boots hug the legs up to just under the
knee. Three inch heels add height, but are not high enough to impede comfort.

Trousers:
Gleaming as though freshly polished, these trousers are crafted of softened black leather that conforms right to the wearer's skin. The waistline is cut to hug the hips instead of the waist, so worn much lower than ordinary trousers. Because of the tight fit, even slight curves are accentuated by a gleaming black that is almost intimidating. Hips, thighs, and calves look exposed completely, but are covered and instead seem more defined than they would be uncovered.

Shirt:
The gleaming black leather of this blouse conforms closely to the skin. The high collar would seem almost modest if not for the fact that the blouse itself is skin tight. It lacks sleeves, leaving the arms bare,
and the hem is cut high, revealing the midriff and navel.

Coat:
Delicate stitching has gone into this feminine long-coat, crafted from the softest, durable doeskin leather. Dyed carefully to the deepest mahogany it seems to shimmer with a haunting bronze glow in candlelight.
Sides are pinched in to mould to the feminine figure, silver buttons shaped into claws adorn the front from the high collar that embraces the delicate skin of the wearer's neck to just below the navel. From the
narrow waist the fabric flows comfortably around the curvaceous hips down to just above the ankles. At the back the fabric is split up to just below the voluptuous buns to allow for unhindered movement. Sleeves
flare out at the wrists to cover the knuckles and just above the mound of the left breast is the image of a howling wolf, branded into the leather itself it seems to communicate an unheard message.
yrael
Love the sketches! I still have the one you did of the crazyass description I had for Yrael from waaay back. laugh.gif

If you need someone for Glacian... laugh.gif

At this point, I still have a months worth of commission work I have to get done with. When I start doing the calendars, I'll make a seperate thread for it and keep you all posted on the progress~

Selerin
Sorry about the double post!!

Awww, thank you! wub.gif

I do have a deviantart account but it's been untouched since around...2005/2006-ish? I'm planning on making a new one for Achaean artwork- old and new -as soon as I get the chance.

But if you want to see some ancient artwork of Selerin, feel free to browse through the old one anyways~

Aww, thank you! I actually like sketchy, messy things better then cleaned pieces. They have so much more personality in them, in my opinion~

Sketches and 'doodles' show off the artist, finished products usually just show a nice picture. I buy books of artists sketches/concepts/unfinshed over their completed works, just look at De Vinci!

Exactly! You know, that's why most successful portfolio's include unfinished pieces. It's sketchy pieces that make you appreciate the work...and sort of get into the mind of the person that had made it. It's funny that we're talking about this since the tattoos I have are all sketchy and half-finished looking. wub.gif

I have also have a couple artbooks like that and I used to steal my friend's sketchbooks and photocopy them back when I lived on the RISD campus. Never attended but I got to look at the stuff anyways~
