I need some help.
I've played Achaea for the past 4 yearsish or so, but never really got too far. I've had so many different alts, each used to see if I could find a particular city, class, atmosphere, or ideology that would keep my attention. So far, I've concluded that I'm attracted to most of the classes in this game, as I think each is so unique and has so much potential for fun. But it's finding the correct atmosphere that I'm having the most trouble with.
I like conflict. Most people who play this game do, judging by the posts on the forums. I want wars, and confrontation, and something that will allow me to contribute and have purpose in this game when I log in. As a result, I've usually been drawn to Mhaldor with my alts. Mhaldor tends to be filled with people with similar mindsets, but I've found I don't tend to enjoy that city very much because of the other traits most Mhaldorians have. People like Tenebrus, Kaevan, Malifuus, and Tali are a lot of fun, and I tend to love their "Evil" personalities, but others just bother me. It seems Mhaldor's filled with either adolescents who got picked on when they were little and are now displaying their "all powerful" attitudes that they never had in real life, or females who believe a real woman should be cold, patronizing, and ultimately an unpleasant bitch. It is dissapointing that the vast majority of Mhaldorians feel "Evil" needs to take on those qualities, because, like I said, the others who create a persona of their own make Evil and the city so much more fun.
All that being said, I want a change. Shallam tends to fall into a similar situation as Mhaldor, but instead with the opposite stereotype of "Good." I did like the Anointed quite a bit. Are they still around? How is Hashan these days? Is there room for conflict and such there.
I've found I've always been engrossed in combat in the past, and think I'd like to try a political career. So far I'm leaning towards Hashan or Shallam for that. I've never ever tried Cyrene, and it seems like fun, but the lack of them doing anything seems like it'd drive me crazy.
So, long story short. Any suggestions on where I should go for a change of pace, for something that'd hopefully prove to be fun. Any particular groups, or organizations that you guys find particularly good? What did you guys do when you got bored, or lost the fun in this game (Aside from abandoning it all together!)
Thanks,
Vast
