Time and time again the Admins (or whoever judges the Artisanals) have made rather poor decisions in deciding winners of Artisanals. (Atleast in my opinion.)
How would everyone feel about a unofficial/player-run Artisanal competition?
Maybe we could hold it in a thread right here in the forums.
Of course, there would still be rules and such, but having your artwork witness and judged by your fellow players would be much more enjoyable and satisfying then by some random nameless admins.
Maybe we could even convince a few generous individuals to donate some gold or credits for the winners or something?

Ooo...I rather like this idea. I don't really have money or credits to donate to the cause but I'd be all excited to see the entries!

I usually buy credits every two weeks depending on my paycheck, so I wouldn't mind throwing up a few (4-5) credits to the winner.
Ready set go!
Edit: I could possibly throw up more if I buy more. It all depends on how many hours Craig's Cruisers gives me, and how much my credit card bill is.

Great! I think we have enough people interested now. How exciting!
How does everyone feel about just have the competition here in this thread?
We could start in in one week if that is okay with everyone, just to give people time to start getting ideas in their heads and start drawing or sketching or designing or whatever it is that they are planning on making!
We could keep it open for say, three days? Then not allow anymore entries, and all vote on our favorites.
Sounds good everyone?

20 credits to the person I personally think has the best submission

I'm all up for that~ *cracks knuckles*
Alright! Let's get this thing started!
-Rules are as followed:
-Has to be Achaean related
-Only one picture person participant
-Can be 3D, pencil, ink, pastels, pretty much whatever the artist prefers.
Am I missing anything people? Throw it up here if you think of anything else.
Anyways, let's give it a couple of weeks and see what turns up shall we?
Have fun and let's see those imaginations flair!

Do we really need a competition though? Unless someone is ponying up some credits here or there, there's no real -point- to a competition. It's just fun to have drawings posted. I'd say the posts of people saying 'That's so cool!' is really the only reward people will get from this. Though I predict that the usage of 'needs moar tattoos' will go up 200%
We actually have had a few people say they will contribute credits and gold to the winners.
But I do agree, it doesn't -need- to be a competition, I don't mind a thread full of people's art one bit, but
without the "competition aspect of it, this thread is just another "Look I made a pretty picture thread"
Plus, as do the "that's so cool!" comment, winning makes people feel good

Looks like there's some credits "ponied up".

Rules are as followed:
- Has to be related to Achaea in some way, shape, or form.
- Only one piece per participant.
- The artistic style doesn't matter, so much as it is original.
The judges ( ie - forum-goers who wish to give help out ) will mail their gold or send their credits to the person -they- decide is the winner. In other words, there are no actual winners, aside from those who "get the most" out of this. We think this is the best way of doing things, as everyone has a different taste in what is more stylish, what looks better, and so on. The whole point of this "competition" is that some people do not think that the pictures chosen as winners in the "official" artisinal are worthy of credit pay-outs.
Have fun.
Fix'd, as the way I see it going.

I'm not sure that's an official tattoo. With a bit of fiddling, it might be able to pass as a brazier.
Regardless, a proper Achaean would have no less than 6, and probably twelve tattoos.

It should be.
I Love Mom tattoos should be the trans tattoo and make you gain +100 strength to save a loved one and lift up the fattest of dragons.

Aww! I'm all flattered! I actually don't use photoshop but I'm glad it looks like it. I lost my photoshop ages ago during a PC crash and a babysitting accident where CDs became frisbees...One of these days I'll get PS again, though!
REGARDLESS, I use OpenCanvas. It's like...an 11kb welfare PS where the only things you can use are paintbrushes, layers, and a pen tool.

Pure win.
My own little contest:
I'll give 10 credits to the person who comes up with the most Achaean something. This is open to anyone.
A couple stipulations:
- If you create something on your own, it has to be 51% original, and if you use someone else's work, just give them credit for it and I won't have a problem.
- You can make something with other people, but if you do that, it has to be 100% original.
- All entries must be Achaean. Just having a bunch of tattoos won't cut it. (having tattoos would meet like 50% of that requirement)
- All entries must be PM'd to me, and a message (should, but not required) sent to Mosr in game. (Otherwise I'll forget).
I may up the prize if I really like what I see.

A little something for the Sylvans - Eclipse. Something to do with said Sylvan taking a picture of your prone self using the sun, or something.

Without explanation, this picture looks weird, yes?

Ah, found an old log of my practice spar against a Sylvan.
"Shaping his hands into an arcane symbol, <Sylvan> stares at you through the suddenly stark silhouette.
A flare of sunlight streaks forward to overwhelm your senses."
