I don't log very often, but I happened to be looking through a few of the logs I do have and decided to post a couple of them, so here they are! The first was a conversation with Corbeaux when he was a Shallamese thief. He had robbed a citymate of mine (Krinos) and I was speaking with him as I tried to find and kill him.

QUOTE
You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "So, Shallam is finally breeding its own thieves..."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Interesting."

Corbeaux tells you, "I thought it to be good that Ashtan and Mhaldor should know what it is like to be thieved from, Ma'am."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Oh. I'm sure the thrill of it, and the wonderful rewards had nothing to do with it."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Your silly morals would forbid that, wouldn't they?"

Corbeaux tells you, "It is thrilling, yes. The rewards have been nice, as well. Recovering items for Cyrenese and Shallamese is a wonderful feeling. And selling the items to my people have been very rewarding too."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "I see."

Corbeaux tells you, "You don't believe, then?"

Corbeaux tells you, "I don't suppose your babbler friend, Krinos, had anything to do with your interest in my doings?"

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "My babbler friend Krinos? Hah."

Corbeaux tells you, "Are you not part of his order, Ma'am?"

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Of whose? Krinos is not a God, dear."

Corbeaux tells you, "I meant Lord Babel, of course. Perhaps I should speak more clearly."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Indeed."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Would hate to be labeled as a "babbler", wouldn't you?"

Corbeaux tells you, "Hah, touche. But why question me about thievery, Ma'am? You do so yourself, many times."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "I don't believe I asked any questions."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "I merely wanted to congratulate you, actually."

Corbeaux tells you, "I see."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "For casting aside some of the traditional Church dogma, of course."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "One step at a time, dear."

Corbeaux tells you, "I may not live by the Codex, Ma'am, but that doesn't push me into the realm of evil."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Oh. Of course not."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "I wouldn't be congratulating you if you were a slave of the Twin Lords, anyway, now would I?"

Corbeaux tells you, "I am not sure. You help the Twin Lords enough, just as Lilin does."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "I serve only one God. On rare occasions, Mhaldor's interests coincide with mine."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Much like you and your treehugger friends."

Corbeaux tells you, "How convenient."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Very."

Corbeaux tells you, "I am actually enemied to Eleusis, so I don't know what you wish to imply there, Ma'am."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "That actually furthers my point, dear."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Your city works with your enemies."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "To further its interests."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "The same occurs on other ends, unavoidably. I am a serpent, like yourself, of course. I hardly care for the methods, only the results."

Corbeaux tells you, "Give Mordanyconus my warmest greetings, please."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Hah. And you, keep crossing that line. Perhaps a few more steps and you'll be free."

Corbeaux tells you, "Free from what? I don't live by any precepts but my own and the Dawnstriders."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "And those precepts are your prison."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "You may reject some of the tenets of the Church, but you certainly don't ignore them all."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "If you did, you wouldn't be a Dawnstrider, now would you? Because that's what differentiates you all from the rest of us serpents. You're afraid to cross that line of morality."

Corbeaux tells you, "I've all ready talked to Triak and Lilin about these things. As much as I'd like to be imprisoned within the confines of an oblivious future, much as yourself, I think I'll take this prison over yours."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "The only prison of mine."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Is this realm itself."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Fortunately for you, in the end we'll all be free, regardless of your wishes or ability to understand what is best for you."

Corbeaux tells you, "Too bad Lord Babel cannot relieve you of that, then."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "He doesn't have to."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "The fate is already sealed."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Oblivion awaits you."

Corbeaux tells you, "May I ask you a question, Ma'am?"

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Certainly."

Corbeaux tells you, "Have you ever considered using your talents for Creation?"

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Creation is nothing to serve."

Corbeaux tells you, "Does it bother you that there are many within your city that dislike the notion of oblivion?"

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "It bothers me that there are people everywhere who are ignorant of the truth, yes."

Corbeaux tells you, "Hrm."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "It bothers me that several cities are adamantly opposed to it as well."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "It bothers me that the Church burns books to hide it."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "It bothers me that warriors of the "Light" will do anything they can to fight it."

Corbeaux tells you, "Ah, I see."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "But what can one do? I enjoy a good amount of bloodshed anyway."

Corbeaux tells you, "I've noticed. Do you plan on visiting the Prophet Averroes anytime soon?"

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Hah."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Only when I'm angry."

Corbeaux tells you, "-chuckle-."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "A life for a life, I say. If Shallam will spill the blood of my allies and hide, theirs will die also."

Corbeaux tells you, "Ah, yes. That's my motto with thievery."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Then again."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "I also kill for idiocy, heresy..."

Corbeaux tells you, "I suppose I am a prime target on the heresy part then, eh?"

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Hah."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "As I said, you're already stepping in the right direction. I have yet to hear true Church dogma come out of your mouth."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "If you're wishing to be a target, you'll have to try a lot harder."

Corbeaux tells you, "You probably won't, then. Most of the Church dislikes my fondness of stealing from enemies. But that doesn't negate my help of my people."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Not yet, of course."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "I'm sure you're very appreciated in your city. That is why you hide away from them all, and the rest of world, as you are now, isn't it?"

Corbeaux tells you, "Sometimes you do what you do even if people hate you for it."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Even if it's only hindering you and them, yes, I know. The principles of Shallam."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Anyway, I must be off now, so, again, congratulations, and I'm sure we'll meet again."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Oh. And."

You tell Corbeaux, Shallamese Thief, "Stay away from Krinos."
The second is the end of Danith's conversion.

Backstory: Danith hires me as an assassin to kill Palanor for personal reasons, and I do so. Palanor begins to question me about who hired me. Finally, I tell him my hirer wishes to meet him, if he's brave enough to venture into the bog near Ashtan. I meet him at NoT and bring him to the bog, where we run into Danith. This is what happens next.

QUOTE
Within a noxious bog.
Filling the firmament is a lattice of heavy grey clouds. Strange shapes move beneath the trees in the distance, their features obscured by the tangled roots of mangroves and the shifting mist hanging over the murky waters. Every so often a large bubble will rise up from beneath the squelching mud of the bog, bursting open with a wet gurgle that releases an unimaginably foul-smelling odour. Long tendrils of greyish moss hang down from the branches of the surrounding trees, swaying quietly in the faint breeze. There are 2 guardian angels here. Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels is here, giving off a truly ghastly stench. Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent is here, giving off a truly ghastly stench. He wields a spiritual mace in his left hand and a kite shield in his right.
You see exits leading north, east, and northwest.

You nod your head at Danith.

Palanor blinks.

Palanor inclines his head politely at Danith.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent asks Palanor, "And what are you doing out here?"

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says, "Terra tells me she has brought me here to meet the one who has paid for my life."

You say with a cold, Rajamalan accent, "Actually, I told you I would bring you to the one who has yet to pay for your life."

You cough softly.

Danith's eyes twinkle enchantingly.

You say with a cold, Rajamalan accent, "But do carry on with your wonderful reunion."

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says to Danith, "Is this true?"

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says to you, "Well, with all due respect, my dear, I did give you -some- payment."

Danith winks knowingly.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent asks Palanor, "Look around you. Do you see anything different?"

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says, "I'm in the bog and I do not care to be."

Danith's eyes sparkle with amusement.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says, "Of course you don't care to be here."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent asks you, "And why would you say he wants to be somewhere else?"

Danith tilts his head and listens intently to you.

You grin mischievously at Danith.

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says, "Terra has brought me here, with some degree of theatrics, to introduce me to the one who has or would pay for her to kill me."

You say to Danith with a cold, Rajamalan accent, "I think the place is a bit too frightening for the poor man, to be honest."

Danith nods his head at you, showing his acceptance.

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says, "And with all my heart, Danith, I pray it is not you to whom I have been introduced."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says to you, "Yes. Bravery has never suited him."

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says, "Spare me the insults. I have come here for answers, not musings."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says, "In fact, of all of the two-faced, corrupt and weak Shallamese I've met over the course of my life, he stands to challenge them all on cowardice."

You say with a cold, Rajamalan accent, "The answer is right before your eyes, Prelate. You Shallamites just aren't used to looking there, are you?"

You give a trillingly melodic laugh.

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says to Danith, "Did you instruct Terra to kill me?"

Danith's eyes sparkle with amusement.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says, "I'm not done humiliating you, Palanor."

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says, "You may try to humiliate me as much as you care to. There is no humiliation for those who stand in service of the Light."

Danith steps closer to Palanor and grasps his chin with his fingers, ensuring direct eye contact between the two.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says to Palanor, "Listen to me, you pathetic man."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says to Palanor, "You cannot even tell me what it means to serve the Light selflessly and without ulterior motive."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says to Palanor, "And what you've failed to notice, as I told you before, is that you've changed me, Palanor. In ways no one else has before."

Danith's eyes sparkle with amusement at Palanor.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says to Palanor, "Until now, I've never wanted to spill so much innocent blood."

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says, "To spill the blood of innocents, Danith, is against the cause of the Light."

Danith chuckles long and heartily at you.

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says to Danith, "What has come over you that you behave in such a way?"

You grin mischievously at Danith.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent asks, "Could it have possibly been you?"

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says to Danith, "It is my most sincere doubt. We each look to place blame when our fortitude cracks; I bear no guilt for you or any of your feelings."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says, "As they say, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says, "I've been fooled by your kind before."

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says to Danith, "Only that, if indeed you have been the designer of my death, perhaps there is something more that I, or the Church, might have done to prevent you from steps taken on such a path."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says, "Yes."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says, "Indeed."

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says to Danith, "Answer me this in truth and by your oath as an Elysian - did you orchestrate my death by the hand of Terra Diaboli?"

Danith utters a deep, rumbling laugh.

Danith frowns in concentration and you see a glazed look momentarily cross Palanor's face.
Palanor kneels onto one knee, demonstrating his humility and respect.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says, "Indeed."

Palanor stands up and stretches his arms out wide.

Danith nods gravely at his angel, and it begins to glare piercingly at Palanor.

A gentle hum arises from Palanor's angel, as it raises a shield to protect him.

Danith's eyes sparkle with amusement.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says, "Look at that!"

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says, "A true warrior."

You say with a cold, Rajamalan accent, "A coward, until the end."

Danith viciously smacks Palanor about the chops.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says to Palanor, "Face me, you coward."

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says, "I am no warrior of might."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says to Palanor, "Show me your faith and resolve."

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent says to Palanor, "Show me how it's served you!"

Danith viciously smacks Palanor about the chops.

Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent exclaims to Palanor, "Show me how it's supposedly made you stronger!"

Prelate Palanor Weltsdown, Patriarch of Angels says to Danith, "If this is the path that you walk, then it has made my spirit stronger than you or any who have done as you do before you shall ever know."

Danith looks towards Palanor and begins to recite the holy verses.
Palanor screams in agony as his soul is burnt with purgatorial fire.

Danith looks towards Palanor and begins to recite the holy verses.
Palanor screams in agony as his soul is burnt with purgatorial fire.

Palanor lays his hands on himself.

Danith looks towards Palanor and begins to recite the holy verses.
Palanor screams in agony as his soul is burnt with purgatorial fire.

Danith's guardian angel casts a piercing glance at Palanor.

Palanor lays his hands on himself.

Danith's guardian angel casts a piercing glance at Palanor.

With a flourish of his arm, Palanor bows deeply.

Palanor lays his hands on himself.

Danith's guardian angel casts a piercing glance at Palanor.

Danith's guardian angel casts a piercing glance at Palanor.

Palanor takes a drink from a zebrawood vial.

Danith's guardian angel casts a piercing glance at Palanor.

Danith's guardian angel casts a piercing glance at Palanor.

...

Palanor has been slain by the might of Reverend Danith Evensong, Elysian Adherent.

Aww, that was -really- entertaining to read! I loved it! wub.gif I never got to play in the Good vs Evil playground before but it's great fun see play out~

I love it when a good RP falls into place. Albeit, it hasn't happened often since I've returned from dormancy but there have been a number of special moments. Usually involving debating and reminiscing….
Crathen
mellow.gif That was great. Particularly Danith vs Palanor. I wish I paid enough attention to the Church/Shallam IG to know what happened afterwards!
