My submission for Artisanal. I nearly threw up skittles while working on this.



It's Selerin Wildfang in Lord Scarlatti's temple in the Crystal Cavern. Probably my favorite place in all of Sapience. Even had a wedding there

I like the amount of color and variety.

I think it's cute. Very colorful, but reminds me a little of Rainbow Brite from the 80's.

You know, I've never seen Rainbow Brite. I was always inspired by the Crystal Cavern (as dorky as that sounds), Jem and the Holograms as far as the big hair goes, and my own LARP outfit. *g*

She's slowly been getting this bright and ridiculous looking since day one.

That's really pretty, but it's not really Achaean. From what I gather, you'll need like five tattoos, a few runes, three pipes in your mouth, a canvas backpack, a few vials and a puppet of someone along with that suicide mouse you're holding.

I could always redo it to add in the bazillion loyals and mounts that follow the people that visit the temple.

I'm really against the whole idea that you need to slather your drawing with Achaean related things; the jokes aren't really funny, either.

It's just a matter of substance, quality over quantity. Sure, if you post a warrior with a Delosian bastard sword riding a mount, it probably won't get you much, since you can attribute that picture to a lot of already made or common looking pieces. You have to add -specific- items to the picture to make placement, i.e., a specific, well identified room(as Celery did), or a notable denizen(one of the paint-splattered kittens would fit in this picture, for example), or the statue on the side of the road, or the mime in Delos, etc.

I might be more cynical towards the new "draw every tattoo and totem in the background" mentality because I recently went back and looked at a lot of the older Achaean artisinals and enjoyed their more simplistic approach.

Selerin, this is the best picture I have ever seen come out of the Artisinals.

I don't know why, but I'm in love with it, and now I want a giant poster of it to hang up on my wall.

Just for that, I'm going to draw a picture of Taril slathered and surrounded by everything achaean I can thing of. Enjoy. It'll be worse then the Latus Pinup picture I did years back.
On another note, I put her in that location because that's the spot she's most commonly hidden in. She had her wedding there and spends at leas 80% of her time hanging out there or someplace in Scarlatti's temple. She even modelled her appearance around the damn place. How could I -not- put her in that room? xD

...I'll admit that the adding of the tattoo was a bit more 'eh' but I feel justified since I have feather tattoos on ME. It just felt right to put one on her.

Ain't it just? I had done the Latus pinup when I was having a streak of drawing some lady friends (with their permission) in suggestive pinup poses. Needless to say, Latus was the sexiest and most well-recieved of the lot.

I love your artwork Celery. The Selerin self portrait is really cool. I'm not sure if I've been to the crystal cavern. I must find it!

Also, the Latus pin up made me lol Though why doesn't he have hooves?

I don't really have alot of them since they were given personally and not uploaded to any server. The only one that was really kept around was the one of Latus since we both agreed that it needed to be shared. Give me a bit and I'll probably be inspired to do some more.

I take back everything I said about Selerin. She's an annoying brat, but she is a CUTE annoying brat.

Haha, she's definitely something. I won't hesitate to admit that she's annoying. Not particularly bratty, but she is pretty obnoxious half the time.

Sorry it's so late in coming but I've been unable to get online almost at all. I've been...pretty farking busy, man D:
This month's artisanal's honestly rushed and shyte-lyke.

My submission for this month. I only had an hour to go from half-done to finished so due to my having to chase after a train so...it's rather rushed looking. :/

Seeing your drawings makes me want to get a sketchbook and some pencils and lock myself in my room til I can do that..but I'd be in there for a loooooooooooooong time!

Selerin, your drawings are so awesome and rad. How long do you spend on each drawing/painting anyway? I can do sketches but I know that paintings like that take uber skill, do you paint on your computer or paint with a brush and scan it?

Aww, thankies! Well, this one for this month is hard to estimate since I started it on the 1st and had to continue working on it in small amounts over the entire month. Had to do a rush job in the end on the 30th, though.

The Selerin Self-Portrait picture took me about 8 hours total, though. Honestly, it varies. This picture was drawn completely on the computer with my tablet but the Selerin one was referenced from an older picture I'd drawn of her and updated.
